* Please be warned that gear, once transformed into a glamour, can no longer be used as an item. This is an irreversible process. Transformed gear no longer exists as an item.
* Transformed gear cannot be returned to your inventory or Armoury Chest.
* Glamours stored in the dresser cannot be applied to adventurer squadron NPCs.The dresser can hold a total of 200 glamours regardless of equipment type. Once this limit has been reached, glamours in the dresser must be destroyed before new glamours can be added.Glamour plates can only be applied while in large settlements such as Limsa Lominsa, Gridania, Ul'dah, Ishgard, and Kugane, the Gold Saucer, residential districts, inns, or the Ivory Chapel.
* A character must be able to equip all items included in the glamour plate for it to be applied.Looks like my concerns were valid. As other people mentioned this also brings limitations on glamouring the squadron and retainers, if we move all our favorite glamour items into the dresser. Moreover, by putting our glamours into the dresser we limit our ability to apply glamours outside of cities. The patch notes did not mention if the glamour would be saved to the job/gearset and if it's not, then changing jobs outside of cities will leave us without a glamour outfit.1. Ensembles don't use gear from your bags, so you only get 200 unretreavable items + Armoire to make ensembles with. The excited people who fill up their Commode on day 1 will not be able to make ensembles with future glamour gear without destroying some of their older collection already in the Commode.
2. You cannot use a piece of gear both in ensembles and as normal glamour at the same time, unless it's an Armoire item. For example, if you put the maid outfit in the Commode, then you can't glamour your tank gear to maid while your Paladin is wearing the AF armor ensemble.
3. The limit of 10 ensembles puts a permanent limit on how you can mix and match the 200 items put in the Commode. Once you have made 10 outfits (some of which may be partial), then the rest of the items are unusable as glamour. Assuming 6 items per outfit and a full Commode, you are restricted from using 140 glamour items you own across all your jobs and classes at any given moment.
For these issues to not become a reality we should absolutely get an option to convert Commode items back to regular gear. Otherwise I only see myself using it for gear I can easily obtain again and job specific gear (because you want those to be glamoured "on top" of your role glamour).
To SE: Thank you for simplifying the glamour system and handling the dyes in a sensible manner. But please, reconsider not letting us use converted glamours in the old glamour system, or alternatively consider adding more capacity and more ensembles to the dresser very fast. Also consider letting us change glamours anywhere in the open world and having the glamour change automatically when changing jobs.
To players: I suggest being very careful when permanently converting your rare glamour items, because you will never again be able to use them in the old glamour system.

Yeah, this killed all of my hype for the new system, which was what I was waiting for the most from the new patch.* Please be warned that gear, once transformed into a glamour, can no longer be used as an item. This is an irreversible process. Transformed gear no longer exists as an item.

I was struggling to limit myself to 200 items before, but now that I know that any decision I make about it is final I hardly want to put anything in there anymore. Man does this suck...
Shhhh, irregardless if your concerns are valid or reasonable (or not), you can't doubt or question SE. Else KK will show up and rain his shiny shield on anyone who dare to "poo-pooing of the new system"-
Actually, I'm surprised he hasn't shown up yet at this point. /s

I can say that I'm totally disappointed with the dresser system since I was hoping for a portable dresser that can store and take out glamour items anytime anywhere like the glamour system similar to what Blade & Soul have. Also, the patch note said that the dresser will eat our clothing and it no longer can be used as an item and it'll be impossible to be restored to inventory which really sucks. Few days ago I might be thinking "Man, I can't wait till the goddess dresser save us all and FINALLY LET MY ARMORY AND INVENTORY BREATHE FOR A SEC" but nope, it ended up to be a total setback.
Seeing the designs of the 4.2 gears is also demotivating and I can't bring myself to be excited because they're ugly and they recycle most of their clothing/equipment designs from the zodiac set. Just...why can't SE see that for some of us glamour matters and we take our glamours seriously? For some of us, glamours are end game and this is really upsetting gosh![]()

Ya, this doesn't make much sense to me at all. No idea why at all they wouldn't let us take the gear back out. The game already knows what gear is in there :/Yeah, this killed all of my hype for the new system, which was what I was waiting for the most from the new patch.

http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...06#post4550106 <--- thought this might make it sting less.

I have a question.
If I want to glamour only the body, and this body is in the Glamour Dresser. I have to go to Inn to access the glamour dresser, create a plate only with a body and apply?
I can't access the dresser to apply using the old model?
Supposedly - The old glamour system is still in place...so if your doing one offs...then you just need a prism...and use the traditional inventory storage methods.
Id say at this point for mogstation/one off pieces - dont use the dresser.
Hopefully i'm not wrong...didn't see SE say otherwise.

Doubt I'll make much use of the glamour dresser due to these restrictions.
Things that need to happen to make it usable for me:
1. Need to be able to retrieve the items we place in it.
2. Need at least one glamour plate for each job including gatherers and crafters. (I'm fine if classes are not included in this number.) That's 26 Total.
Glamour is something that changes frequently and many players who enjoy glamour have many multiple outfits involving hundreds of individual items each with their own value as a glamour asset. Any system that involves glamour needs to be flexible in order accommodate changing player tastes and new equipment releases. Placing gear into the glamour dresser means that a valuable glamour asset may have to be destroyed in the future in order to make room for new assets. As a glamour enthusiast myself, I find this restriction to be completely unacceptable and means that this new feature will be largely unusable. I hope the devs can reconsider this decision and work to change the feature to allow us to place and remove items from the glamour dresser freely.
To be clear, this concern is not related to losing the item's stats or value as combat equipment, but rather losing the item as an asset to be used in glamour. Our retainers are full of hundreds of items for glamour because we want to KEEP THEM, so adding a system where our important glamour pieces could possibly be lost is simply untenable.
