The whole point in mentor roulette is to help people with these kind of content.
Its not a pick and choose situation for mentors.
Dont like it then dont queue mentor roulette.Problem solved.

And why exactly do newbies need to run extreme primals? IMO a mentor should be for someone that is doing main story runs for the first time and helping them through with that. Nobody needs the ex version for these fights to do the main story and to do most of the game.
But hey if they dont change that its one less mentor for them. I gladly would help someone in a dungeon and maybe an old 24 man raid or the normal mode raids. But I cant even do the roulette because I just dont feel like doing the recent extreme version of the primals.
Extreme primals are there for the challenge. Honestly they should not be there for newbies who still need a mentor.
Yoshida himself stated in an recent interview that mentors should not be perfect players, thats not what they want from that.
Maybe everyone would be fine if you can only be a mentor if you beat the new ultimate content? Because somehow someone cant guide a new player if they only do the normal content...

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
Ultimate is not part of Mentor Roulette, while Extremes are. So that example isn't even real.
Coils/Savage are an entirely different level than Extreme primals. Trying to explain T8 or T9 is infinitely more complex than explaining Shiva EX or Ramuh EX.So therefore my question is this: If it's to help people through older content, why are coils/Savage not included but ex primals are? With that being said, I wonder how this could be approached. I don't want Ex primals removed myself, I like them, but how does one resolve this?
What about Thordan ex or Shinryu ex? What chance is there that a sprout who queued blindly is going to carry their weight in a fight where experienced players had to join several practice groups to learn different phases? Many players say that O1S is easier than Shinryu ex, so why is the former not going to be in the roulette but the latter will?

I'll throw Seph ex into the mix. Took forever to clear and even the unsynced runs for WT are very likely to fail. Hell, Sophia is considered one of the easier extremes out of that batch and I still get into a WT or a farm party that disband after 5 wipes because no one knows what they're doing. And with those things being content from an expansion ago, even synced, people will still underestimate it and wipe. And wipe. And wipe. And blame the mentors.
To be fairly honest, I don't know. O1S is a lot easier than both the fights you mention, but even those two fights are easily explainable. What about Thordan ex or Shinryu ex? ♥ Baby, tell me, what's your motive? ♥
As someone who's joined plenty of practice parties and only once seen the start of phase 2, either it's not easily explainable, or it's sounding like players are really really bad at listening.
In the former, why didn't they look up a guide? in the latter, why am I talking to a brick wall AGAIN over Ahk Morn?
The fight (along with almost every fight in XIV) is extremely scripted, nothing skips until you hit 44% HP, and then again at 24% HP in the final phase. Because of it being so scripted, it is easy to put down the rotation of the fight. Same thing with Thordan EX, and many other EX fights. In your situation, it seems a lack of communication on the receiver's part.As someone who's joined plenty of practice parties and only once seen the start of phase 2, either it's not easily explainable, or it's sounding like players are really really bad at listening.

My biggest problem with Mentor Roulette is that when it comes to EX fights, people just rush in and don't bother to wait for explanations from the mentor. So this is why the success rate of EX primals is extremely low if you see anyone's statistics of mentor roulette, in addition to the fact that people don't listen, and even worse if you're in EU where people don't even speak the language you do...

I know. It was more about the: What if. What if mentors need to be able to beat ultimate to even go into the roulette.
I mean right now mentors have to beat the recent primals too if they even want to queue for the roulette. I just dont really count recent extreme primals as content that new players should be in. Heck even stuff like Thordan, Nidhogg and other HW primals are kinda hard if you unsynch them. I dont really want to run them synch with new people. In the end people like me, who just dont fight recent primals are not able to help as a mentor. (Other then running normal dungeons and looking if someone new is there) I just wish we would have a mentor roulette only for dungeons and normal trials. Heck I would be fine if we dont get points for the achievement if we chose the one without the extreme trials..but at least a choice would be nice.
