"Hardcore" Sonic fans hate almost every Sonic game for 1 reason or another. I honestly don't get why they set such high standards for the series myself. Sure the games may have 1 issue or another that no one can deny, but personally I think the overall negativity is blown out of proportion. I mean really, what's the point of just making them all like Mania? Is that really what said fans want? I think it'd get boring after awhile myself if it was the same game with just different stages and stuff. I didn't think Dark Brotherhood was bad, I didn't think Forces was bad, and the only games I really didn't care for playing were the ones that needed the Wii Remote (wasn't a fan of using that thing). I haven't played every Sonic game in existance, but I have played most of them. I might just be more open-minded and less high-standardish than others but still...It exists, and hardcore Sonic fans hate it. Bioware made it, even, but phoned it in so hard.
It's also traced back to be the cause of Archie losing the Sonic liscense after over 2 decades, but that's another story that only super nerdy Sonic people really dive into.
Seriously, though, could SE take the Sonic license and male a GOOD Sonic RPG...?
P.S. From all these posts I'm starting to think people want to see Knuckles in the game... But that's just crazy. I mean it's like they expect to find the Master Emerald in The Churning Mists...

Naka being in SE means nothing for sonic since sega still owns the IP.. but with the way sega's been going I wouldn't mind giving SE the sonic IP and them making a sonic game. Then again THAT'll depend on what team in SE gets it in all honestly. Not everything SE makes is gold. 13-2, 15.... >.>
Tho I love how Naka said " please look forward to it " Are he and Yoshi P friends? IS that a bigger meme than I thought it was? I must know.

My interpretation as a Hardcore Sonic Fan is more of a "I really am sick and tired of every review going out of it's way to bait Sonic fans for clicks and views and always forcing us to sit on the defense or on our back foot for liking these things," while simultaneously stuck looking at the many instances of SEGA's executive meddling preventing Sonic games from always getting that last bit of polish or a release that rival franchises do get.
Ahem.
That said, I didn't like Dark Brotherhood for several reasons. It's too easy, 6 hours long, wrote some of the characters poorly, and was basically an "episode 1" instead of a full game. The fact it's got so much non-game itself related bad juju is another story entirely, and I think that's stained it's reputation beyond repair in the eyes of many fans. Thanks EA. Thanks Ken Penders.
But, anywho.

I am comfortable with the speed i am currently proceeding at and have no wishes to increase that increment by any amount

To be fair, I know of games, not necessarily RPGs, that can easily be beaten in less time and can still be liked, at least by me anyway. Also Dark Brotherhood could be replayed for different dialogue and whatnot.
