Why do you see it that way though? Are you maybe projecting?

You know people can post their pictures for fun and not for narcissism? To have conversations? To join in on a topic they like and have fun with everyone else?

Why is what you say the only reason? Just because you think so?

You know that saying about how true beauty isn't in the face but in the soul/mind? Yeah, well..blatantly screaming about your self-obsession instantly makes you ugly in my eyes, no matter how beautiful I might have initially found your character.

There is a difference between being confident about your looks and a silent scream of "Appreciate how pretty I am!!" while plastering the same picture all over the internet.

You need to take a step back and think about what you are saying....this is taking this WAY too seriously. It's just video game avatars? They don't exist. They are pixels in a computer. They are just used to differentiate between us in a virtual world and people do design them for fun you know and not just narcissism...which for some reason you think is the only thing that exists?

The OP never said you can't post whatever character you want including your own so why are you trying to hijack it and put down everyone who posted their own characters? If it didn't say not to then people won't think it's wrong to just post whatever characters they want? Logic right?

Not everyone is what you try to label them as. You are just projecting what you personally think onto everyone else. Instead of being rude to people who happen to post their own characters just because they felt like joining the topic how about you go make a new thread and specifically say in the OP not to post your own characters? Go make the thread that you want to have, it is in your power to do so instead of railing on people in this one where the OP did not list these rules that you are personally trying to tack on.

I mean people just post screenshots of their character innocently in a thread asking for character screenshots from a game they play and suddenly they are narcissists, obsessive, and ugly. You don't see a problem with what you've posted here?

In my eyes you just don't seem to understand that not everyone is what you say they are. If you get that upset at people just posting their characters in threads that ask people to post screenshots of characters then don't go into said threads and/or start blacklisting people you don't want to see then if it bothers you THAT much to start being rude over it.

If I stumbled upon a thread elsewhere entitled "Pictures of beautiful people", and then discovered that it was mainly just people posting their own selfies - you bet your ass I'd think they were all full of themselves. Yes, people are just posting screenshots here, but the behavior is still the same.

This thread needs less horn-tooting and more random creeping.

I don't see why we can't post both. :/ Maybe I wanna share my pics with people other than the Roes. Maybe it is narcissistic. But is it hurting anyone? No. But I think all the negativity and shutting people down to be more harmful than a little bit of self love.

Found a TWINSIE in Rabanastre a month or so ago! She was so pretty with her blue eyes. I wish I had more time to get better pictures with her.



With that said, I do find my girl to be beautiful ^^ In a sea of men that have told me she's not beautiful because she is not petite I am proud of her. Glamour in XIV has come a long way.

I don't get the complaints. Like, I hate drunks right? So I stay out of bars. I don't go INTO the bars, and then loudly proclaim how awful drunk people are to all the drunks in said bar. The only reason for me to do that would be if I wanted a bunch of people to give me dirty looks, or possibly kick my face in. So anyone yelling about the narcissism of posting your own characters here...you're yelling at drunks in a bar. You are the idiot wasting your time doing this. And also, to be on topic (and because I know it's gonna piss off the complainers) here is picture of Mira from almost a year ago. That's exactly something I pointed out though? You are equating MMO avatar screenshots to real life pictures. They are obviously not the same thing.

IRL isn't a game, you aren't born into a character creator and get to pick and choose how you will look over your lifetime. In MMO character creators you get to pick what YOU like...so of course people are going to like their own characters? Most people design what appeals to them. It isn't narcissism because it isn't what you truly look like in real life and it shocks me people are taking this so seriously.

I just don't see the need to come in here and start flinging insults over it since as I said the OP never said you can't and also their picture was even their own character apparently. A MMO avatar is not yourself so how can you be full of yourself or vain about something that isn't even you? You can't just fling those labels on everyone assuming that is how they feel about these pixels.

I mean let's be honest on that regard. People nowadays use filter evem if it is just to soft the skin appearance to hide acne or other inperfections and see a lot in the media talking about people instagram so like we are doing it in rl and people have surgery so like we have the capacity to change our appearances.

The only problem is that well the 2,000 gil is easy to obtain while getting dollar to do that means hard work which is not the same as saying hard work in game.

But yeah i don't understand the whole im mad on this. They are such a people.
