    Apparently water still is in the game

    I'm in no way fluent in French but I know enough to get the gist of text.

    This post is basically saying Water was "voluntarily" left off the list of spells but said that it will be in game. The breakdown is:

    Conjurer (FR Elementalist): Wind/Earth/Water

    Thaumaturge (FR Occultist): Fire/Ice/Lightning

    Not sure how it could be left off in any capacity since they said classes will get only 15 spells/abilities. Unless one of the cures is water - at which point I'd have to wonder what will happen to my Wand of Tides with Water III materia I have waiting for my CNJ.

    Anyway, posted this in general discussion instead of CNJ as I thought it'd have a broad interest.

    At the very least it does help us follow the path that Cure could equal Water based element.
    This does not help though with the new THM descriptions.

    They mentioned wanting to raise the cap to 55, for something, i forget what, but be it for AF gear or some final abilities, (I think they mentioned AF gear is obtained every 5 levels, which would seem VERY odd if i read that or remember that correctly.)
    When Lv55 will be added is unknown, as they are just now starting to decide when it will be best, 1.21? later? at 2.0? after 2.0?
    But It's possible its the spell CNJ might get for the increase of the Lv cap.

    AF every 5 level's isn't that odd, in FFXI AF was every handful of levels (usually every 2 after the initial level 40+ weapon) then Relic was every level and Empyrean jumped between every 1-3 levels.(Some jobs had different level requirements.)

    They already had an idea on when they wanted to raise the cap so it's not a specific frame if I recall, if you were to guess, it would be sometime after 1.21 because job introduction and further refinement to class balance.

    Bah, you should be using a Jade Crook with Magic Attack potency so you can just boost all your elements =P

    Glad to hear that CNJ is getting water. Earth/wind/water really does go with CNJ thematically considering they originate in Gridania. If Cure does end up becoming water-based I wonder if the Water Potecy materia will affect it alongside the Healing Magic Potency. Otherwise, like someone mentioned, it would be something we get post-50.

    Aye, it seems they're making them more "Astral Master" and "Umbral Master" rather than just vanilla healer and nuker which is interesting.

    Actually that's incorrect, since Wind is Astral while Water and Earth are Umbral. Water, Earth, and Wind just fit better in a forest/nature/protection concept.

    I'd rather the AF gear not be every 5 levels, only because by the time you get the body piece or whatever, your boots will end up being so low level it will be obsolete. Unless they figure out how to scale the armor or something.

    This is what I meant by odd.
    Because of the difference of gear between levels, and making crafting gear in the 30-50 range obsolete, I would rather it be 51-55. or just all 54 or 55.
