If you do 24 man raids, it'll happen reeeeeaaaaal quick.

Yeah, 24 mans healer Lb3 is common. Certain fights require or can meaningfully use tank Lb3 (on Savage/EX), Melee LB3s are very common in Savage/EX content, Caster/Ranged on certain fighters (although caster is strictly better, slightly more potency easier and arguably better range last I checked). But I can't say I'm surprised that some players didn't know or see these. Most 24 man content is a bit too much of a cluster for most people to tell what others are doing, and beyond that there's no 8-man normal content that requires it, many fights end without the DPS even using LB and just letting the meter sit there.

There's even some neat logic behind the visuals. The AST LB3 actually has the player Opening the 7th Gate, the one whom quest NPCs say is either impossible or suicidal, but could potentially let them unravel existence etc. For what it's worth the Encyclopedia Eorzea (lorebook) has a blurb/description for each.

My guess people do see them, they just do not know what they are. In 24 man it is not uncommon to see a caster or range LB from someone outside someone's party. They just don't know enough about the game what they are seeing, or pay attention to it.

For those that do not know, even role wise, like healing LB 3, SCH, WHM, AST look way different, same for tanks.
