Slightly relevant to the discussion going on a page or so back, my character is only in ironworks and level 58 so I skip the level roulette and only do the alliance and 50/60. Should be fine, I get I get the original Labyrinth with a friend (dragoon), more people die throughout than usual, I die, we had fun. 50/60 roulette puts me and my friend in tam tara hard mode, also fun. Every seems fine at the start with double pulls (healer being new) and the only ones really doing aoe are me and the white mage. Which is fine, I guess. Ninja is only really using doton I think it's called and I don't hear death blossom. I'm too busy trying to remember paladin because I haven't been in a dungeon with the character in a while. Then there is the first boss. I tell everyone stack on the butt and don't touch the adds. This explanation has worked with everyone else, but I guess there's a first time for everything. First round of adds we we get two stacks of vulnerability (dragoon friend on discord is saying "Wasn't me"). Still everything is fine until the white mage peels off from the group and immediately gets swarmed and killed. He ends up blaming me of course and I try to give an explanation as to why we stack and don't attack the adds to no comment from the healer. I end up opening the coffins because I wasn't going to explain why the tank isn't the best person to do it since the first boss went so well. I explain the rest of the bosses, the ninja and white mage seem to be buddies by the end of the dungeon, we all say our thanks and leave. I thought about what could have been said differently about the first boss and I guess I could ask if they want the long explanation or the short one. I guess I have to include to not move with the markers since one attracts the adds and the other kills them so it just makes it easier to stack and wail on the boss. The good thing that came out of the dungeon is my friend got the snazzy bard coat and him being close to recommended minimum item level got to experience the aoe pain on the end boss as how they were originally intended. It makes me remember how that dungeon was a bit of a challenge when it first came out and learning the first boss was fun.

This week was Alliances From Hell!
I have been spending the past week leveling AST to 70 and I do that daily to get exp. Here's the fact: I'm not that great at this class but i get the basics and can get through alright.
I get a Dun Scaith one and figure I'll do okay since I did this as a WHM once and did great. But apparently not as a dps on our team is extremely trashmouthy to the other healer and i, and other one bails. Then they decide to start Scathich out without us getting another healer... Only now for me to get the ire. After I wouldn't respond to them they directed their attention to a blm. Never ran out of a raid so fast after we beat it in my life.

Then I got a bunch of WoDs where either a whole alliance didn't care and trolled everyone else or the tank of one team pulled immidently and got almost a whole team locked out.
And Rab? I got into a started one again only to enter into a warzone of threats and insults before people quickly voted abandoned.

Went into a 50-60 Dr baelsar's wall as a tank. I would like to apologize to the amazing lvl 60 non-sync astrologian who was a first timer and that I did not know until the end of the dungeon because of "mapping the realm" and then only I noticed and checked her gears...

Somehow someway that amazing ast managed to heal me through those massive giant pulls... I'm so sorry... Least I could do was commend her for the magnificent healing as a first timer and non sync ast.

Huh, kinda like that one time where I got into Totorak and got paired with a summoner mentor and his black mage/job skip "spouse". It went EXACTLY as expected. I knew 100%, before they even loaded in that the mentor was going to:

    1) Go out of the way to not be a part of the team.
    2) "Show off" to spouse.
    3) 0 comms for healer and tank.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt when the thing started because it's an easy dungeon and it would be hard for things to go wrong. Summoner mentor pulls a few mobs in the beginning. I write this off as an accident. It happens. Summoner mentor spawns the first boss. Okay... Spouse is practically standing on me, and soaking up all the poisons I'm getting. Healer advises against that, prompting an argument between healer and the two.

Things went well after that thou- summoner mentor wanted to tank. Wat! The team is here after I just pulled a pack, trying to burn it down. I'm wondering why it's taking a while to kill the handful of mobs, when I realize summoner mentor is already ahead attacking the next set of mobs. So, naturally we finish the mobs we have and go over to him. Of course he's low on health. No one dies though! From this point forward, summoner mentor is never behind me, physically. He's popping the explody-poison things and pulling mobs. I wondered what I was supposed to do.

As expected, the dungeon not only took longer than usual, but summoner mentor and "spouse" left immediately after the final boss. 0 comms for healer or tank. I get that no one likes Totorak, but come on... doing things like this only makes runs longer.

Which is kinda like that time I got into Castrum Meridianum, paired with an Astrologian who liked to sit and watch the action from afar. I bet it looked really pretty!

The run starts off as usual. Tank starts pulling, and advises everyone not to touch anything until the end of the pull. No problem. He starts pulling, and I'm sticking to this guy like white on rice. At the end of the pull, he's not using sprint, so he's gonna need some heals. Some RDM didn't get the "don't touch anything" memo and dies. Happens. By the end of the pull, tankbro is ready for some heals. I throw a regen on him, and he uses Unleashed. Things are going well. I top him off and start spamming Holy, all the while the AST is grayed out. When things die, I see his marker start moving from the start of the dungeon to the first boss. He barely makes it in before it locks. This guy just sat down. First boss is easy, so whatever. Im dodging adds and doing my thing.

Now we get to the second pull. Simple enough. AST isn't there, so I don't get more than a couple of Holys out. Oh well. The group does the fuel tank things and starts running back to the second boss. This AST, I kid you not, is sitting on a rock outside of the arena, after we just did all that. I said something. I asked if he's really just going to sit there. No reply. So we get to the second boss and I could have really used his help. But standing there and looking pretty is the name of his game, so who am I to judge his journey? Well, I died, but before I did, I told him to heal. So his first healing action of the dungeon was raising me. I was upset, of course, but it's nice to know that he did, at least, know where he was.

Third pull goes alright. Simple with cannons. Nothing special. Now it's time for the third boss, the Magitek Colossus. Lots of adds here; could *really* use some back up. Luckily mid way through he got up out of his "/playdead" position and casted shields on people. Cool. Besides doing nothing, he casted shields a couple more times. Better than absolutely nothing I suppose. Still, though, I'm getting a bit upset at this point. Fourth pull, he does nothing. It's time to dismiss. First try was denied. He's in here with a group. Now I'm mad. So I keep trying and finally it goes through just before the last boss. Good riddance.

Another healer came in. She was nice. She had a nice name. She healed.

I get that this can be solo-healed, but I'm not going to carry you.

I don't do that one either. The Avengers in those pulls hit hard, and with so much stuff it's easy to miss the cannon fire on the ground. It works if you have people you know can do it, but it's very error prone and not especially worth it in DF.

    I don't post much but I wanted to say sorry to the BLM I kicked from my Temple of the Fist Expert run today. ;_; You were a great BLM but my patience got the better of me and I don't normally kick somebody. It's something I would rarely do. And them coming back just as the kick went through made me feel bad. ;_;

I was actually talking about the one in Drowned City, before the 2nd boss there.

It's always wonderful when you end up going into the Vault as an Astrologian and pull Boles 75% of the time. <3
