    Hi everyone thank you so much for your comments if your interested I made a thread titled Summoner Idea (pg.6) a few months ago and I talk about how the Summoner could play if Demi-Primals are implemented. I think its a good starting point but I feel like it needs to be fleshed out more. I really appreciate your feedback thank you so much

    I'm with you at the lore side... I don't think it would be hard to bring him back in a good way... I'm more wondering how his effects should look like... actually phoenix-summons iconic ability in FF history is Reraise... now it will be really tough for balancing to integrate a grp-reraise ability you can use every 2 minutes... although I would personally like to trade a phoenix-summon with the common raise-skill, leaving RDM the only caster with a normal raise, i doubt that we will see something like that in the near future.

    I really dislike summoner in this game, it feels like they keep throwing ideas at the wall and seeing what sticks, but the job has just become this stewpot of ideas and even if one of them is good it’s still getting added to the stew full of garbage. E.G. I liked Demi-primals, I think it was a step in the right direction but its now tied to trance which I always saw as a bandaid fix to summoner underperforming in ARR and egi still exist and are as underdeveloped as ever.

    Indeed, due to Summoner lore I think it would be quite easy to implement Demi-Phoenix into the SMN quest line. I definitely agree about the Re-Raise idea, I suggested something similar in one of my previous comments on this thread. It would be a hard thing to balance for sure...I think even a party wide Auto-Phoenix/Re-Raise is probably too overpowered, especially if there was more than one SMN in the party. I think the only way such a trait could be implemented and be truly balanced, would be by making the Auto-Phoenix/Re-Raise only affect the SMN....or make it so it can't be re-applied after a set CD has ticked down, like Virus before it was replaced with Addle.

    aside of not being stackable it could go in phases... 2 dwts:aoe heal, 3 dwts: aoe heal/esuna/reg (maybe not all at once), 4 dwts: Reraise - that way it surly will be more and more powerful depending on your gauge-lvl but it would also stretch cooldown and recast timers... after all a demi phoenix summon would be nice in any way franchise-wise its iconic and lore-wise it fits best being one of bahamuts companions.

    we will see... :3

    To throw an overly complicated idea out for this, you could give a trait alongside Phoenix, that changes SMN's rez for when Phoenix is out, to an ability that when used, first, phoenix will leave the field but secondly you place the Auto-Phoenix buff on yourself or another player that lasts for 60 to 90 seconds and the ability would have a loooooong cooldown so you can't stack it or abuse it. But when a player with the auto-phoenix buff dies, after 3 seconds they will get back up with a fiery raise effect. I don't, just an overly complicated, probably not the greatest solution to the situation.

    One of the big issues though, is while thinking on this, I'm trying not to overshadow Bahamut. While yeah more demi-primals would be great, I don't think they should make Bahamut of all things obsolete.

    well yeah I would say that additional Demis shouldnt have that kind of auto-atk and 2 major hits... Bahamut should still remain as the "raw burst" Demi summon - while new ones should only do mid dmg (if at all) + at least one significant buff/debuff. Like most of them have in other games as well... reraise, reflect, haste, whatever ^^

    I feel like we could have Bahamut for raw burst and a demi-primal for constant DPS, but overall Bahamut should be top dog. I do agree the rest should be situational. It's just a struggle of making sure that utility doesn't make the utility summons more useful then summoning the big bad Bahamut. Unless we get Demi-Primal Ravana...then he can do whatever he wants cause I love that bug bastard!
