IIRC they said you'd still need to change into the plate, they just said you can make a macro that'll do it along with the class change. Which is, imo, stupid and just adds unnecessary actions for us users.
Let's hope it is as easy as SE is making it sounds. Because if I recall correctly they mentioned you'd have to use macros for this new feature. Which leads me to think that every time you change from SCH to WHM or vice versa, you'll have to keep reaplying the glamours on the tab. Hence why gearset macros.
Sadly the number of available slots is also a problem if you really want all your jobs to look different. You need 13 slots if you want all your combat classes to look different, and that number is increased to 24 if you also want your gathering and crafting classes to look different as well.
I also recall Yoshi saying that items that can be put in the armoire wouldn't be needed to be converted into glamours.
I just wish the new glam system would relax the restrictions on the gear locks. But alas, I'm pretty sure that's not this update.
this is very encouraging. Just last night im raging just trying to sort all the nonsense I have on my 3 retainers and character just to glam my PLD and DRK differently.
Sounds like they did not listen to any feedback =/ it is vague details leads me to believe they left it unnecessarily complex.
200 gear is not a glam log, I am in awe how out of touch they are really are from the user base. How come we do not get more development representation to talk to on these forums?
Didn't they say it'd be a hybrid system? The old system isn't going anywhere, so most likely you can still use the base glamour on the gear, but if you choose to use a set from this system, that's what'll show. So at least one job per role wouldn't need to use this, is what I understood at the time. Still throws DoL and DoH under the bus, but it at least covers most of your battle classes.Sadly the number of available slots is also a problem if you really want all your jobs to look different. You need 13 slots if you want all your combat classes to look different, and that number is increased to 24 if you also want your gathering and crafting classes to look different as well.

I thought it was said that we had to go to the inn each time to apply the plate when we change job? I don't know anymore x.x All I know is there's a lot of restrictions on introduced stuff these days to make the servers and spaghetti code happy. Oh well lol
This is 100% correct.Sounds like they did not listen to any feedback =/ it is vague details leads me to believe they left it unnecessarily complex.

This change is only a bandaid fix. They need to take the time (a whole Xpac if they have to) and rebuild their infrastructure so it can be future-proof.
I'd rather they take the time and bring everything up to speed with the standards of modern AAA MMOs than apply any more bandaids that only delay the inevitable.
Unless it's like 10 plates per class/job, that won't be enough. Make it like 25 and we're in business!
