I really hate this argument as this game does not have very unique races. All of them can be boiled down to Hyur + some sort of adjustment.

Miqo: Hyur + tail/ears
Roeg: Hyur + some bulk
Elezen: Hyur+ pointy ears
Au Ra: Hyur + scales/horns

If the game already had actual beastial races, or races that didn't look like they were created with a hyur as a starting point, perhaps that argument would hold more weight.

The thing is though, they need to spend their time making something that will be fairly popular. And stay popular - they need a race that people will likely fantasia back and forth to several times. Legit beast races will only feed a small group of people. They know attractive rabbit girls will feed a whole lot more. Taking in the popularity of female Miqo'te and Au Ra, I think it's pretty obvious that Hyur+animal ears will win the race.

I don't see why viera should be removed from the polling. I would keep the poll the same, but give viera its own category instead of putting it under mammalian demi-beastmen. I think people largely voted for mammalian demi-beastmen because viera was listed as the example, and people wanted viera.

Because it's the only one that has a very specific example (hence why Yoshi-P wondered if it gave it an unfair advantage), while the others require voters to imagine what the potential race could look like.

Taking in the popularity of female Miqo'te and Au Ra, I think it's pretty obvious that Hyur+animal ears will win the race.

That kinda makes me worry for Viera... will they be the 'Fran' (or adult woman) fans want, or another Miqo'te/Au Ra cute girl?

To be honest, I'm hoping we get a Fran. Lets look at it this way - no one can turn a blind eye to the fact that SE has been making more... unique footwear for our characters. At this point we have several boots that alter the entire shape of the foot to be more animal like - which happens to be the exact shape Viera feet are. It seems like to me they're trying to prep the game and test limits to see if these new designs would work right on a potential race they know many people want.

All I ask is that my bunny ladies be tol.

Considering the pole someone posted earlier in this thread? No, because Square stated we like cute. I'll edit if I find the parts again.

I loved my Popori. I played a priest , and the retreat would cause it to land flat on its butt then bounce up onto his feet. SO adorable. Not to mention rolling on the ground when laughing.

If all they are going to do is make Bunny Miqote, I'd rather them just not waste the dev time at all.
