This makes it so the micro-managing of songs doesn't leave the average fellow confused at who gets what, it makes it so you buff everybody without splitting the party up.
loved the new idea of bard buffing everyone then splitting the group.

Look at Archer/Bard like Corsair in FFXI

If you haven't played FFXI, it works something like this. Your main focus is to keep front line and back line with the appropriate buffs up. And in between buffs, if you've spent time on decent armor, and equipment such as cards and bullets, then you can shoot for damage. No one's really going to be blown away by your output, but you know you're going beyond an average corsair.

Give or take, I think this will be the concept of Archer/Bard. Likely a bit more focused on damage output than the way Corsair was balanced.

Eventually when this is how people think of them BRD will become aware that they can get away with having random groups pay for their services of the Barp.

This is the thing I liked a lot. You still have to split the party up, but, you only have to split two songs from what I can see from the list. Other than that they're universal buffs.

That's how I was looking at it actually. I loved COR in XI, not BRD so much, but after looking over the abilities I noticed it will have some sort of DMG output it can do, though, buffs will be the main priority as they should. That's why I am hoping SE makes it so the buffs last longer than a minute and a half like in XI lol.

I refuse to answer because your awesomeness is repelling all my ideas about your thread.

    Lemme try... hnng...
The Bard looks like a DPS-buffer, and from the actions list it looks like it's a balance between both. Bard being able to buff the party 'n sh*t while letting its arrows cope with Ifrit's balls. Looks like anyway a boost for the party, so Pugilists will be happy to hit more =)

This' basically how I see it. Now I just need to wait for 1.21 to test it, since it looks great!

I myself have been in FFXI since the release but oh well, that's not my concern. I'm only concerned on what will required to unlock the job of Bard and the job of Ranger. 14 is an entire entity of itself rather than a remake of 11 and not to be confused, that's why it started out with classes instead of jobs. If it's going to have jobs now, I guess everyone will give them names as such from the ones in FFXI (it's expected) but I don't think they may work the same way as intended in the past deeming the fact FF14 will head down a different direction. It's time to think outside the box.

We're from the same world(yaaay) look forward to seeing you around!

You say Bard will be a "DPS-buffer" could be like saying Ranger will be a back row damage dealer(as before) and that would be fine with me (/cheer) since I'm A Pug looking forward to being a DD rolling Monk/ Kung-fu master.

I would have to keep my mind open to other possibilities that Bard (being a mage class) might have a different role. Only options to differentiate from FF11 would be to give it Nuking powers and enfeebles(Con and Thm).

Like-wise, I encourage semi-role playing and it enhances the experience of being in the forums. In fact, it separates the psychos from the artists.

I'm not saying Bard or Ranger or Paladin even any other job we all are familiarize with already won't make it to the game(well I've never...), I just don't know when. When it does, it'll be after the PS3 release IMO.

I think it will be more of an all around buff type, not just DD. If not now, they probably will add a bit more to the list in the future for the type of spells/abilities all the classes can use, especially with a cap raise.

Gath agrees with this notion. Gath enjoys when people have fun with Gath's posts.

Of course not, 99.99% of people are too ignorant to understand there are multiple forums. Don't feel bad being part of the 99.99 percentile.

P.S. Gath, talking in 3rd person is just really sad, even satirically.

Apologies in advance it's that time of the month for me.

That's why i put it in these forums, knowing that the larger percentile don't even look at the other forums.

Gath is very confused as to why people take offense to Gath talking in third person.

Gath speaking like this doesn't insult people, yet Gath's fans seem upset about it. Well Gath thinks his fans should deal with it.

Gath's 1 gil is worth more than your 1 gil.
