Whew, I think the longer Rab is up, the worse my teams get each week. Just now I ran my weekly (I procrastinate until Monday, I know). Got into a started run at Hashmel (as usual). Longest run of that dude I've ever been through. I didn't even know he could summon two rounds of adds.
Finish, a healer loots and scoots, we get to horse dude. We wipe twice because one team can't seem to dps enough on their add, and one of our healers is having fits at everyone. We finally pass.
Get to Revelation guy. Someone explains the faces... Half my team completely ignores and starts getting debuffs. I went through the entire second half of the fight on low mp because I'm Verraising like crazy and the BLM didn't want to Mana Shift...

i genuinely don't understand how people can level their job to 60 or 70 and not know the basics of how to utilise their kit/what their skills are. was in skalla with two melee dps that didnt once use their aoe (doom spike + sonic thrust, rock breaker respectively) which caused trash to die very.... slowly. also got into sohr khai with a monk that stayed in fists of earth the entire time despite my saying something too :T

Not exactly a specific tale, more of a slight frustration I'm sure many can relate to.

Can people please learn the mechanics of Skalla's final boss already. The dungeon has been out for months. It pops up so often that I've heard Expert Roulette jokingly referred to as Skalla Roulette. It's not brand new content any more. Please learn the mechanics.

If you get the circle, cross or ring on you, stay where you are. Every single time I get this dungeon, healers and ranged DPS run around like headless chickens, placing one or multiple of these AOEs onto other players. Don't do this.

These aren't difficult mechanics to understand. You're almost always better off staying where you are, unless you're melee DPS, in which case you need to move the AOE off the tank. Just don't run around the room with it, it's a pain in the ass to have to constantly run away from players carrying AOEs onto you for some reason. If you get one of these AOEs, stay put and let others move themselves out of the AOE. Don't run around with it like a live grenade.

This is the reason why people think BRDs suck: ran into one in Expert Roulette. Only used songs during the bosses. Didn’t use them for any of their AOE potential. Barely kept up her Straight Shot buff. Used Raging Strikes WITHOUT A SONG UP. Best part? She has cleared v3s because she was in Savage gear.

Many people have Savage gear for jobs other than their mains because gearing with Savage tokens is much easier.
e.g. I have Savage gear for my tanks and healers but I main BRD.

Still, I wouldn't jump into expert with a job I have no clue how to play unless I was with friends.

BRD was the only job they had to 70.
Probably safe to assume it’s not an alt-job.

I mean, I’m not the best BRD and still have tons to learn, but I at least know to use my songs. ;-; I wanted to offer more advice, but people get so hostile the minute you start critiquing them.

Guys. I'm so tired of wiping to Deathgaze. Was doing Alliance as SMN (I pretty much only take smn or healer now). Dps was decent and only a few were getting knocked off. Then Doom happened and it all went to shit. I continuously raised ppl and began calling it out in party chat. Both WHMs were like... 'We don't have Esuna.'

Now while this blew my mind once upon a time, one of my raiding friends explained why this is a thing (and of course there were no Bards in our group) and I was like... ok. They just need a sec to put it on.

They didn't. Doom kept happening and we kept dropping. Finally I realized that both WHMs were in Shire gear and were jumpers who had no idea what ROLE SKILLS ARE. This made the entirety of the raid HELL until one of them finally dropped and we got another WHM who in fact, had Esuna. Thank God.

Also, World of Darkness is a horrible place now. 3 wipes at King Floateye. Because of Doom mostly. FML

If you're referring to Mortal Gaze/doom move from Angra Mainyu (the floating eye boss), you can't Esuna that. People have to run to the glowing circles to have it removed.



PSA: Healers can only remove a debuff if it has a white line above the icon.
