I was in Mog HM for trail rout. Neither tank picked up aggro for anything. People were going down left and right. Eos was tanking more than these two. So we kindly asked them to pick up aggro on something (and we did use the word 'please'), and both started to whine about how mean we were for asking them to do their jobs.

And a continuous shout-out goes to all the Asts that stay in Noct, go into Noct from Dia, or choose Noct when their co-healer is a sch. And when you ask them to switch (thinking, oh, they must've just not noticed me), they completely ignore you/

My question is, is there a reason to get offended to getting free mp (assuming that was why he said what he did)?

Don't listen to that person. As a healer main, I love you. Gimme all that sweet, sweet MP.

So, just black listed an actual player and not the bots that infest Limsa.
It wasn't a DF so much as a PF. Someone looking to farm Susano Ex. Cool. I've done him a fair amount in learning parties and I've managed to, in the past few weeks, complete his trial 9 times (not a lot, I realize that but enough that I'm pretty confident with the mechanics).

Everything starts out great. I'm pumping out really good DPS and am actually battling for top spot with a melee DPS. I haven't died. I haven't lost health to avoidable mechanics. I've moved when I should, not moved when I shouldn't, managed the dice thing fine, etc. We're doing not too bad.

Then the first screw up. I got the marker and the cloud; cloud spawned directly beside Susano and I brainfarted and went to the right when I should have gone left. Incidentally, the purple AOE was not COMPLETELY covering the safe zone, but close. I died, MCH died. I immediately type into chat the moment I realize my mistake "$*%&, I'm sorry! My bad!"

MCH replies "I just died to mechs I didn't mess up." Yeah, you did. I'm sure it's not the first time.

After that, things are still going fine. We're wearing him down and we're at 1 or 2% health when we get the "Make way!" command and some of us in the party start to move when one of the tanks says "No switch needed with this one" which I think he was talking to the co-tank but I also think other people took it to mean that they didn't have to jump to the other side of the platform since Susano was so low in health. Unfortunately, it caused a wipe.

Okay. Tank follows up with "what kind of mess was that?" I thought we were doing pretty well, actually. We got him down to 1-2% health in maybe just over 10 minutes.

MCH posts "why are people so bad at this game...." (literally word for word)
Me:...Really?
Tank: You're wording it wrong. Be more careful with mechanics.
Me: I'm so sorry, I didn't realize we were expected to be 100% perfect all the time. My goodness!
MCH: Well yea be polite

Next round:
I get the dice. I'm trying to time when I can stop with the count-down because I know you can sheath just at the last second and not get dinged. I do not time it perfectly and didn't sheath but stopped casting and still got hit. I did not die. No biggie.
Tank says "Don't move in dice Kakiko, just sheath"

Then someone got the cloud marker and the cloud spawned directly behind Susano which it sometimes does. Really hard to position it quickly when that happens and unfortunately that person wasn't able to. I died, a few others died. Same tank reminded them to go into triangle formation and the person defended themselves saying the cloud spawned behind the boss and they didn't see it in time. In my opinion, acceptable and since it didn't cause a wipe it wasn't a big deal.

MCH posts "jesus clean it up" and then we move into the sword phase where MCH decides to leave or disconnect or log out. Don't know. Their name was there but greyed out. Tank decides to tell us "wipe it." We didn't pass the dps check b/c the MCH was gone and after that, everyone left.

MCH got blacklisted. I check lodestone, MCH has all classes at 70. I'm sure somewhere along the way, MCH makes mistakes. I'm sure at some point, they've died to avoidable mechanics that they have simply just screwed up. It happens and they really should get over themselves. If MCH is reading this: It's just a game. Get the knot out of your undies and pull your head out of your backside.

So,

There I was...sleepy, ready to go to my bed, then a fc friend insist "we need expeeeert"...and after few hundred times he ask it, I accept.

My main spec is Tank, but I've being learning Heal for a while, healing Experts, Trials, Rabanastre and O1S/O2S, and since I was sleepy, I choose to heal because healing do some effort in my brain and keep me awake!

Got a Tank DK.
And he was...pretty weird! (gameplay style!!)

We get The Drowned City of Skalla.
First, we get into the dungeon, the pug dps drop instantly, we wait replace for some minutes until another dps get in

Then, the tank...
First, when you see a tank cast Rampart, Convalescence, Shadow Wall and The Blackest Night BEFORE pull first pack of trash, your "DANGER!!!!" alert already begins to beep intensively on your brain.


Then after this, you see the same DK only cast 2 Unleash then switch to ST rotation and never use any other AoE until the pack die...the beep go louder and one of your eyes begins to flash red light!!!!!!


Normally I try to understand new players, I main tank for the last 6 years in MMOs, so when I see some tank doing something weird like pull with provoke, I normally can understand easily whats going on his head to think its a good idea...

With this tank, nothing make sense! lol

- He only use 1 or 2 unleash for pack then no more AOE, only ST, losing aoe aggro for DPS
- He cast CDs before pull, never use CDs during pull (and lose the CDs before too, since he cast it, all cds, and stand still for 10/15 sec then go pull)
- He pull sometimes using Provoke
- He lose boss aggro
- He tank stuff facing group
- He dont avoid ANY AOE, ANY! He ate everything!! EVERY LITTLE AOE THING!
- He move mobs out dps aoes on ground

This was a weird run!
On the last pack before last boss, he lose aggro for both DPS, and, trying to keep everyone alive, I let tank die, since he dont use any cd (he already cast before pull! Lol), and "tank heal" 1 tank + 2 dps is away from my abilities as casual healer lol

After he died, I instantly ress him, he got ress but dont get any more aggro on the last 3 mobs alive.
One of the dps (my friend) could take all aggro, so I could focus healing him and we kill it

I was on voice chat with my friend and he even think in vote kick...I say no since I dont vote kick anyone without talk first, and I was too sleepy to talk, so I just choose by carry the tank lol

But even if i was good to talk, I dont even know for where to begin Lol
Each time he breath, he does something weird lol
Even his timing was weird lol "oh ok, he stop to move with this pack, lets give some secs, if he dont move, we begin to aoe...good, lets aoe...wait, why he is moving now?!"

In the end, it was a good pratice to me lol
Now I know I can heal a dps good geared tanking 3 or 4 mobs on expert!!

More a random question than anything interesting.

Did a dungeon today and I as blm use manashift on the healer, and some point after one of the manashifts he immediately says "you serious?". I reply with a ? and he never says anything further. His mp wasn't hurting but my manashift was not enough to top him to max either. My question is, is there a reason to get offended to getting free mp (assuming that was why he said what he did)?

Also, we had 2 blms and the other one never used his once.

Hell no, it's not a reason to get offended. When I'm healing in dungeons I frequently spend a lot of mana spamming aoes, so if a caster goes out of their way to mana shift me without being prompted to do so (which is quite unusual - hell, even doing it when actually requested to do so in usual in your average roulette run) they get my commendation and my sincere appreciation/thanks.

What I assume could have happened here (and correct me if I'm wrong, as your post doesn't specify when you used it) is that you used it either
1) after a pack of trash was dead,
2) when the healer had popped his MP regens,
3) you popped it in astral fire thus hurting your own dps.
These are the only cirsumstances under which I'd raise my brow at a mana shift - I'd not MIND it and I certainly would not say anything against it, as it's always useful so long as healer's below like 80% MP, but there would definitely have been better times at which to use it (for example mid trach pack, when a healer's MP is straining).

But in any case, BLMs can do this under Umbral Ice to no detriment of their own, RDMs rarely need much mana to spam scatter to deal with a trash pack, so in most cases I don't see a good reason for mana shift to not be used.

Haha, that guy is hitting every single Bad Tank Bingo, it's almost like he was doing it on purpose? Standing around waiting for *other people's* buffs to drop is just regular DF tank procedure, but *his own defensive cooldowns* is new to me!

Yeah if I had to choose I think this would actually be my least favourite tank annoyance. I've played enough monk that 'please stop randomly spinning mobs for no reason' and 'please don't wait to pull until the second after GL3 falls off' (I swear they do this on purpose) are just background noise now, but as I'm still learning white mage, it is so frustrating to have the tank charge off just after my second Holy cast, leaving all the stunned mobs behind... Or when I'm on scholar, just after I've blown shadow flare and bane so I have to waste another stack on the next pack... If you wanna pull another pack that's probably fine but like, make that decision DURING the pull, y'know?

PF Story: A1S light farm, about the 5th or 6th pull, we lost our PLD who had been MT, got a DRK replacement. 3 total tanks (me, other DRK, WAR), but nobody steps up to MT. The other DRK turned Grit on briefly at the end of Faust, but turned it off for oppressor and I didn't notice until late, so you can imagine how that went (we still won, but...). I put Grit up after that and we continued for nearly another hour with no issues.

Mentor roulette, got Titan EX. As usual, first run a few people fall off. Second run, I fall off during heart phase because Titan was badly positioned (not pulled all the way to the edge) so I got hit by a landslide after being broken out of gaol.

Before the third run, the MT says "don't fall off again" to everyone. I started typing "I only fell off bc he was badly positioned" but backed it out, not wanting to start a fight but also keeping in mind I wasn't the only one who fell off, so he wasn't singling me out.

Next run, he falls off. The other tank, who is inexplicably wearing a mix of i70 darklight gear along with some LotA and relic i90 tank gear, can't keep hate against me, a SAM synced down to i130, so I tank Titan until I die then the healer does. We wipe in due course.

The MT who admonished everyone not to fall off leaves the duty immediately. One by one people start leaving, so I bail.

It's a shame because it's totally doable in DF.

1) I used it right before a boss fight close to when the trash were dying to top him off, but I didn't think it would cause any irritability? Oh well

3) Not under astral because then my mp wouldn't tick up

I'm not worried about it, was just a little perplexed.

EDIT: Just realized top off probably wasn't a good choice of words. More like get him closer to getting full mp faster for insta-boss pull like most tanks do.

Rabanastre and people kept on running into the crowd when they had Jagged Edge. There was plenty of free space to run to but nooo they had to run into everybody and stack. What is so hard to see that you are getting the purple circles?

When a player runs with the entire alliance to the next boss but then says "brb" and stands just right outside the arena. Comes back a minute later with "wow couldn't wait" when they're locked out...

Yea ok, d***head! Pretend like you had every intention to participate in this fight too. Ya couldn't inch a little closer into the actual arena to avoid lockout if the fight started before you came back!?
