Gonna need some evidence that Windows is actually causing issue's to the consumer.

Unlike OSX, Windows plays very nicely with other operating systems. You cannot appletalk Windows or Linux computers. But you CAN add Linux computers to a Windows Homegroup and Active Directory. One of my classmates did this as part of his final project for our IT degree program. From a networking point of view, the Linux machine was being treated like a Windows one.

For the layman user, Windows is rather cheap to buy and updates and service go on for the life of the development and even some time long after the version is obsolete (like XP). For Apple you have to pay for major updates (akin to service packs which are free for Windows). Linux is free, but has no official support. You get what you pay for.

Sorry to say, but I'm pretty sure you're wrong to say Windows is anti-consumer. Its been pretty pro-consumer for a while. Hell, anyone remember the browser wars in the 90s? Windows is the reason we don't have to pay $50 per computer for an internet browser.
