They admit that this game is with systems "from the past" so, and not a game from today![]()

A: [...]these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

I'm sure at the time they said this, they meant it, but to me it feels unfair to keep holding them to something they said 2 months before they'd even released housing.
They are allowed to change their mind... especially since it was us who complained about inactive houses that pretty much forced them to add automatic demolition.

If you look the other quote of my sign, they change their mind also about personnal housing for doing a stupid decision, THIS decision make this problem.
Even more, the word are strong, it is not simply " we wont do this" it is clearly an attack to game that are doing this. Before critic others, be sure you are clean!
And finally, with all money they get from cash shop, they could buy more data servers. . . (just see what they just added... not so long after edda stuff, and others... )
THEY decided to get a limited housing system, THEY decided to make a system limited to some lucky people. THEY said the autodemolition system is from the past.
I would prefer they never added personnal housing even after promising it, than what we get now.
66 more euros to spend in a so big cash shop(we are speaking about a subscription MMORPG... 66 euros = 6 month sub). And they cant get enough data server for everyone getting a house? Funny

In the current housing system, auto-demolition is an absolutely essential tool for players. They should never have turned it off in the first place, for any amount of time. There will always be natural disasters. To be honest, if I were victim of a natural disaster, I'd feel bad if I were used as an excuse to inconvenience the vast majority of the player base. The last thing on my mind would be FFXIV.
If this is how they operate, why believe anything they post re: upcoming? Just wait, shake your head and laughI'm sure at the time they said this, they meant it, but to me it feels unfair to keep holding them to something they said 2 months before they'd even released housing.

Because everyone should realize that things change, including the circumstances around housing. They made a mistake in using an absolute like "never" but that was their plan at the start. Players demanded something different and they gave it to them. Now players are demanding more and they're trying to deliver. Its much better for a company to adapt than remain bound by untenable promises in a bad situation.
