Question about Balmung.

Considering it being the most popular server out of every server currently its something clearly special and nothing but hoping the community leaves isn't fixing it and will not fix it and needs something else to be done. How people cannot see that blows my mind and how they can defend SE for allowing it to get so big,locking the servers without stating it to anybody, 6months go by and nothing has happened and no word from the dev team i'm at a loss. I didn't want another 14 page issue on the matter but just some of the responses you people give is just mind blowing.

Acting like a child is wanting a company to do more. How dare I and others want more done on an issue. Posts like this will not stop eventually SE will have to actually do something as the current "fix" isn't working and thousands of posts later of people stating why will show that.

You want SE to fix it? They will take X amount of the population, and say "Welcome to your new home, no going back for X days" and have them FORCEFULLY transferred to another server. That is how it will end up going.

They offered incentives for people to transfer OFF before Stormblood and they locked it so it wouldn't go so far out of proportion that it caused the ENTIRE data center to collapse in on itself. Maybe they can limit it to one character per ACCOUNT to be on that server, give anyone with multiple characters there 30-days to remove all but one, and if they don't they will make the decision. But, oh wait, you want your cake, with ice cream, and get to eat it to.

No they dont need to do that again they need to fix the servers so it can hold the current people and more, do an entire server overhaul so these servers from what seems like 1.0 be actually 4.0 and your damn right I want my ice cream and I wanna share it with my friends.

You're not paying attention. It IS working. Gilgamesh was unlocked. Servers gain and lose their status of preferred worlds, new worlds, and even congested worlds. I understand your desire to play with your friends, I do, but those selfsame friends can either transfer off Balmung or create alts on your server to play with you. I'm not going to go 'well they're not such good friends, are they?' because I understand both your desire and their connection to their server. But even if SE buffed their framework, it's only postponing how long it'll be before Balmung gets locked up again and we'll see this thread again. Not that you'll care as it'll be someone else's problem.

I do care im the person to want every server to be open for everybody so nobody has to be in this situation. No server should be locked but again the issue is theirs so many people that just telling them to leave isnt gonna do anything theirs no round or reason to. Has it made some progress sure I will not deny that but in the long run it will not fix the issue and 4years from now Balmung will still be locked unless SE does something more. I dont fully believe this current setup isnt the only thing they can do and thats what posts like this are take it as "im special blah blah" but it boils down to the company can do more and people from the outside of Balmung know that they in this given situation with how SE is doing this they will not be able to enter and play with their friends.

Why do the servers need to be able to hold more people than they're currently able to hold when there is still space on some less populated servers? It makes no sense at all to spend money on upgrading server-capacity as long as there are servers that arent terribly overpopulated. And there are. Basically every server except Balmung.
You wouldnt buy a a third external harddrive for your PC until the current ones are all stuffed up, would you?
