I know BLM was recently addressed in the recent LL about getting some buffs/changes, but I can't get why SAM, with all it's high potencies, wasn't given an effective method of dumping aggro.

Black Mage aggro is fine. We have access to both a reducer and a dump.
Samurai and Monk could both use a reduction skill.
Given Circle Shirking though, Threat really shouldn't be an issue.


I don't want it as BLM. Let NIN have its identity. I have enough already so enmity is not an issue. SAM (and MNK really) might need some love, but I'd rather see some form of enmity reduction than enmity transfer.
SAM and MNK mostly need a secondary aggro dump because every other DPS has two. BLM is fine with Lucid Dreaming and Diversion.
People have the illusion that Shadewalker is still absolutely needed. While still being an amazing skill, you only miss it because when you replace NIN, it means you will have a MNK or a SAM in the party. And they'll hit hard with no way to dump the enmity from it.

Can we stop trying to push other JOBS skills unto BLMs please? Raise, now Shadewalker then what? Heals? Pets? Enmity builders? Stop the non sense please

enmity dump on BLM is a godsend. Shadewalker on SAM MNK would be great since they have none. What I might suggest instead of the melee role pool getting diversion is instead getting a miniature Shirk that can ONLY transmit enmity to the target's current target (so the main tank at the time).

And to that effect BLM has a pretty massive enmity dump in it's toolkit in the form of Lucid Dreaming. I run it when I play black mage exclusively for that effect. The only jobs in the game without access to some sort of enmity dump are ninja (which frankly has other options and doesn't need it) monk, and samurai. The latter two need it to be sure, but Black Mage doesn't need another skill to do what they already have access to.

I don't like that NIN provides more total dps than MNK/SAM when you count utility and makes agroo easier, while the "subpar" melee jobs make agroo harder, it makes no sense.

The class that should be able to transfer enmity is the one that generates the most/does the most damage, not the least.
