Considering that my first reflex as a synched-under-64 RDM was, when the only healer died, to spam verraise, asking myself "uh , why doesn't it work ? maybe some lag, i will try again... what's this red message ? Oh i see, i don't have this skill right now anymore...", it doesn't surprise me that other people are making the same mistake

I was doing a 50 dungeon in roulette and the healer got killed during a boss fight. I cried when I realized I had neither VerCure or VerRaise available. The tank was nice and /comforted me.
It's the primary reason I don't do synched content on Red Mage anymore.

The funny thing is though I LOVE pre-51 level synched Roulettes when I'm playing Black Mage. Since I can actually use my Sleep and Bind spells to rather nice effect.

Now that I think of it, I think I just really like Utility skills.....

Adding into the Raban horror stories.

I signed up for the duty last night as WHM under the impression that DF on Tuesday is usually pretty awesome. Oh my, that was not the case last night.

1st boss had little issue, the odd death to the meteor AoE things but that's okay, it can dazzle and confuse. We move on to the 2nd boss and oh boy it went downhill quickly.
Suddenly people in my party seemed to be dying to everything possible. Extreme Edge? Yeah I'll stand in that. Earth Hammer? Yeah I'll stand beside that, it's fine. Then comes Sand Spheres and half my party seems to be chilling out somewhere else so the few of us in place can't kill the add in time.

We finished the fight and moved on, everyone but myself and the tank supporting a nice tripple weakness. 3rd boss was the same story. Noticed our DRK tank was OTing in tank stance while rotating CDs even when there was no AoE damage going out. Found it weird and pointless but still. Final boss, again, was a mess. Had to healer LB3 with the boss at probably 30% HP, which I was a moron about in executing and got myself animation locked into a double AoE after everyone was raised.

Buuuut we made it in the end. Hands shaking and head pounding from shouting at the TV so much. Not a single piece of loot. Nothing. No CS watchers either. I promptly logged out and watched anime for the rest of the night. Maybe next Tuesday will be better...?

Uhhmm? I blacklisted him because he got on my nerves and I didn't want to play with him again.

Blacklisting does nothing to prevent this in PotD or DF. They will not be able to join a PF group you initiate, and you won't be able to see anything they type in your chat logs. That's it.

Yep. It also doesn't stop you from showing up on a former friend's list so they can track where you go or see whatever name changes you might take. Found that out the hard way when I cleaned out my blacklist for a certain individual after a year and they immediately sent me a message the next time I logged in. Blacklisting does next to nothing.

I've heard and read about so many stories regarding synced RDMs getting harassed for not popping vercure/verraise.

Was in WC when our healers died during Ozma, and our BLM kinda hinted that maybe I should rez them. I told them "I wish I could" and they asked me why I couldn't since RDMs get verraise. Correct, we do. But I and one of the healers let them know it was a level 64 spell.

Seems to be a fairly common occurrence, unfortunately.

It's always hilarious to witness their reaction when their smartassery gets shut down.

With Rabanastre's coins giving now 340 weapons upgrades, i know some players who are usually only into crafting, housing and such who were like "omg, this is tempting to try it now, but i really dont feel like watching beforehand a lengthy video guide to see how it is working...". So you can indeed expect to have some troublesome runs these days

I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT THAT! Now I can upgrade my RDM weapon instead of upgrading tank gear. >.>

DPS in the duty finder. You do not know what I can handle, you do not know what the healer can handle. I already pulled 2 groups pushing the envelope abit (new alt with very low tank gear) and you go and pull a 3rd group causing us to wipe and you call ME incompetent?? This really grinds my gears and really makes me consider giving up tanking to make all you dps suffer longer queues.

SO much this it's arrogance and selfishness to the extreme when people do this if you want to do this in a static fine but if you queue up for randoms expect things to go slower than you usually expect them to or want them to.

That pisses me off to no end as a healer, too. You want to set the pull speed? Level a tank. Impatient DPS causing wipes is not making anything faster. They just come across as hyperactive six year olds.

Fortunately in dungeons, the tank and healer can always gang up and kick them.

I leveled my tank classes partially in hopes of using them for fast roulette queues, but leveling them and dealing with people pulling all kinds of things I'm not geared for when I KNOW they won't die fast enough, just really really makes me want to not play this role. As it stands I'm leveling DRK occasionally when I get to do it with friends and get to speed up their queues, otherwise I just stick to healers and DPS jobs.

This happened to me a couple days ago, in Aurum Vale, no less - I do love this dungeon, but here I'd really, REALLY like it if no one else besides me pulled if possible - this RDM goes and pulls a separate pack of mobs than the ones I'm currently tanking. At first I assumed they'd done it due to some tab target error, but when I asked why they'd done it they just replied it was faster that way.

Please... can you NOT.

I'm happy to sit here and take punches to the face while you burn down the things, but can you try and not pile more of them on me.
