Of course accidents happen - your tank certainly exaggerated with the "you pull you tank it" thing (as I mentioned in my previous post, and Nephthys as well). Although by now I've ran Vault a hundred thousand times, I'm still scatterbrained enough to sometimes go ahead and get seen by groups of mobs that aren't visible until they see YOU.

... If, however, this starts systematically happening with the same people in the same run, I will indeed stand around, feeling totally jaded, watching my team kill OR be killed by a group of mobs that wasn't accidentally pulled. Sorry man, I'm not immune to salt.

This is my approach. If it's not happening too often, I'll take the "No worries, it happens!" approach and get stuck in (like I would there, to me what the MCH did was a genuine mistake). It's when they consistently do it time and time again that I'll get petty (bear in mind this is after at least after I give me ultimatum of "Next time you pull for me, you're tanking it"). Also, I have friends that I tank/heal for and they do the opposite. We will be in sync and that DPS will get no aggro peel nor any healing. If it's a NIN using shadewalker, hope you like Shirk.

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

It really kinda depends. Qarn NM is a place where you can end up with a party with 0 AoE capabilities. If you're pulling 1 group at a time, you might as well use Sword Oath (it wasn't too long ago when PLD unlocked Shield Oath at L40 and wouldn't have had it for this dungeon). Otherwise, if shield oath enables you to complete a section in fewer total pulls, it's worth it.

I had a bad experience before where the healer chewed me out for going Sword on a boss because they had to heal me more, even though they never dropped under 50% MP.
That healer probably doesn't know what they're talking about. HPS checks in this game are typically very low, and the dps a healer will lose to an extra GCD spent on a heal, seldom justifies the DPS lost by a tank being in tank stance. Unless the lack of Shield Oath was going to cause the boss to kill you or there is a huge gear discrepancy between you and the healer, i wouldn't worry too much about dropping it as most healers are pretty understanding. (do respect their GCDs though! Ensure your gear is up to date and use cooldowns appropriately!).

At Dun Scaith for Allianve Raid roulette, we wiped once at the final boss. Then came two attempts of vote abandons, both of which were rejected, then a ninja from Alliance B ran ahead before the rest made it to the boss room and pulled the boss, before dying on one far end of the room. And rejected every raise the healers and rdm used on him. Now we cleared the roulette 3 mins after reset. There goes my exp for the following day. Thanks a lot.

Personal runs unsync'd in Stone Vigil trying to get the daggers to drop, been farming for them for 3-4 days a few hours a day and have managed to get every single weapon multiple times except for the daggers. RNG sucks a massive amount sometimes.

I decided to try POTD for the first time. I recently leveled up WHM to 50 learning some healing and then AST to 55 and queue AST in there. I went 1-40 twice; my aetherpool didn't let me continue past that the first time and I got tired after the second. I saw some pretty bad players there but none as ridiculous and annoying as this one archer that I queue into twice, despite blacklisting him on the first time around.

First time we had me as the healer, a tank and this archer and some other DPS. The thing I noticed that time was he was constantly using quick nock on single enemies. I asked him why he does that thinking I'd be able to give him some advice but he never responded so just let him do his thing because he was as least following someone around and not being a total pain to deal with. Still, seeing as he would've done more damage doing pretty much anything else for the duration of the run I decided to blacklist him.

An hour or so later I run into this guy again. Me, him, a BLM I had just also ran into and sprout conjurer. What. A. Run. So first off the conjurer was apparently really new and he didn't quite know what he was doing at all so I was healing probably 90 % of all damage going out, including damage done to him, while he also didn't DPS much at all. Unfortunately I didn't really have time to tell him anything either because I thought we'd all get off easier if I tried keeping Derpy McDerpson archer there alive. So not only had this archer guy not still read a single tool tip and kept using a ton of pointless QN, we also had no tank this time and wouldn't you know it he decided to to do the honors. Pull single enemies? Oh no, run into the middle of them, run circles in there and spam QN. Not just that but he decided that he's pro enough to go do that while the rest of us were wrapping up another fight and just generally decided to wander off to aggro a ton of extra mobs for us because why not. All his spinning around pointed the AOE's to us stopping our casts several times. The BLM obviously easily stole some of the aggro splitting the healing targets and the other healer when contributing to healing was often spamming medica on full targets or panic curing several times past max health so everyone else in the group has aggro. That run was pure damage control all the way.

Retrospectively, I should've just told everyone to let him do his thing and keep dying off until he gets the message. That would've let me give tips to the other healer without everyone having an aggrotable built up too. I didn't think about that during the run, purposefully letting someone die as a healer. Maybe next time I will.

This has taught me 2 things. There are people who will absolutely never even reach mediocre results as players and that I'm not a half bad healer apparently: Derpy over there never once kicked the bucket.

Ok…a few things because I’m slightly irked. You blacklisted someone because of their attacks..in POTD, and nothing else? I know you mentioned that you were new, but generally, that’s how POTD goes. Always expect players to do the barest minimum in there because a vast majority of them are either there to boost their aetherpool levels, or are trying to get past floor 50 so they can do some level grinding on floors 51-60. I dunno…if Quick Nock was the only reason that you blacklisted him, that was a bad reason..specifically speaking about POTD, of course. In a regular dungeon, that’s a different story.

Second thing, blacklist doesn’t exactly prevent other players from joining your party through roulettes or instance queuing. All it does is hide you from the open world and prevents them from joining any of your own PF parties that you created.

Third, POTD isn’t a regular dungeon – like I said earlier, don’t be expecting players to treat it like a regular dungeon. The mobs are barely alive long enough to get off a full set of rotations once you level into the 50-60 range inside of there.

Fourth, I can understand players running off and grabbing aggro – that is incredibly annoying, but it’s not uncommon either. Just do your best inside, and treat it as a testing ground. Like I said, you will run into some players who just do the bare minimum needed to get to the next floor...it's just no need to go full out like one would in a dungeon.

    Royal City....

As the one alliance to actually stay alive in a sea of death, I may have cried a little. To those in my alliance...Thank you for being awesome and giving it your all....The rest....

-Watching people repeatedly die to the same mechanics....then get told rez healers...when my healers have personally raised you every time you die, leaving some of US to die....

-When a vote abandon comes up and we're asked to have patience after the 5th wipe, with the same people (healers im looking at you) repeatedly dying each time. It's bad when we're more focused on the fact one alliance was always half to mostly dead and trying to rez them, than just killing the boss.

-I understand if people perhaps are new or don't understand some of the mechanics. PLEASE TEACH YOUR TEAMMATES. There's only so much patience to go around and I've never seen that much patience in a bad RC run prior to last night. That second boss is not something you can just get carried through. You HAVE to contribute in some way. Even if it means simply not dying.

I have patience, and a lot of it. I've been through worse runs both in this raid and other raids. I forgive mistakes, we all make them. But there's only so much leeway when you keep dying to the bosses fire wing, or the columns, or aoe's.....so I will repeat, please learn the fights (you can go in blind thats fine, but even blind you should be able to adapt to basic mechanics) please help your teammates, and please PLEASE stop blaming others for your issues when shit hits the fan. Thank you.....

    Castrum Abania from leveling roulette:
    There's this monk, not a first-timer either...
Not killing the adds on the first boss, just sitting around.
Ignoring elemental mechanics and getting punted around, almost dying on the second boss.
Not killing the big hand in the third boss, resulting in a wipe (which the bard almost saved by kiting the boss from 5 to 1%).

So, I just came back and got up to Shisui of the Violet Tides. Went in solo since my FC was just about dead at that time of day and got a 7-minute in-progress queue pop. I decided to take a chance on it even though I'm an at-level DRK and have never been there before. Zone in, and here's what happens:

Me: Hi folks, what's going on here?
    Party: (silence)

We get to the first boss and get it down without a hitch, then do the second pull. Someone goes ahead and pulls the next group (didn't catch who) and brings it back...wipe.

Me: So that's what's going on, eh?
Healer: (comment about not being able to heal herself and me at the same time)
Me: So, do those other 3 come automatically or did someone pull them?
    Party: (silence)

The rest of the run goes rather well after that, with nobody pulling ahead, tho one of the dps left later and got replaced with a SAM that was probably grateful to only have to do 1-2 trash packs and 1 boss for his/her xp and/or tomes.

Yes, I know big pulls are possible in some of these dungeons, but with an unsynced tank that's still sporting some odd pieces of old level 60 gear (no NQ upgrades at that level), it's unlikely to happen.

Dancer is a physical hybrid melee/range class, not a true ranged class. I love it.
