i have a good story; put up a first time clear pf for v2s and i get two healers who immediately are very optimistic about clearing. i felt bad for them bc they'd both been trying to clear for HOURS (literally 4 hours) before joining mine. we fill, go in, wipe a couple of times but we're progressing until 2 people have to leave. get two replacements and our healers are still rooting for us (they were very good too). zone in and we clear on the first pull! needless to say both healers got a drop, i got my shoes and everyone left happy. can't wait to start v3s and kudos to those healers, they were fun to play with.

Dear co-DPS. I get it: Sometimes things IRL can happen and you get distracted from playing. And sometimes your FC-mates start a discussion that you want to be involved in. Whatever it is, I can fully understand it. But, for the love of Hydaelyn, STOP BEING AFK 50% OF THE DUNGEON, MAKING IT 45 MINUTES LONG.



Goood, today's Temple Of The Fist-run was so utterly painful. Our tank seemed to forget that cooldowns existed and wiped us three times, then D/Ced without actually appearing as offline for five minutes, SAM stood there half of the time doing nothing and when I wanted to kick him he started moving again... Gaaaaah.

Running my male elezen alt through stuff that I have not done with him yet, so I queue for Saint Mocianne's. The run is going ok, the tank and one dps, a bard, are mentors, and the blm is really good. I am SCH and my only complaint is the tank could pull more. We get to the honeycombs and instead of continuing through the first one, the tank and brd kill everything. Whatever... Maybe they don't feel comfortable with the big pull. We make it to the next honeycombs, destroy it and me and the BLM go through.
The tank and brd die and I just can't help but giggle.

The Bard calls me names and the blm replies "people usually run past those." And I just say yeah, I thought everyone was on the same page. I assumed I was the only one with a new character going through. Sure enough in the end my character was the only first timer sooooo -shrug-

I didnt know this until my first go through that place. But hey a decent quick xp on the road to 70 so all good.

Got Castrum Abania. The MCH accidentally pulled the first group by walking too close, not a big deal it happens all the time and the tank was right next us. However he instead decides to let the DPS tank the mobs while he ran a bit back down the ramp and waited for us to kill them. So I asked “There a reason you just stood down there instead of helping?” The answer I got was “there a reason you guys pulled before me?”

I don’t like this tank mentality. It’s the first time I’ve run into this kind of tank since I started nearly 2 years ago. I told him it was an accident and to take his petty attitude back to WoW. I guess he didn’t like how I didn’t grovel before him ? He “disconnected” during the second trash pull.

Your tank certainly went overboard with the anally retentive attitude (accidents happen), but I can sympathize with reaching a point with dealing with DPS/Healers pulling when you just don't give a damn anymore.

I usually instruct DPS very clearly...DO NOT PULL AGGRO...that is the tanks job.

don't care their excuse...I even caught healers doing this...ripped them a new hole so to speak (politely of course lol). (He was a mentor too...and a GM slapped him)

EDIT: course this is usally after the 2nd..3rd..4th incident before i say something..cause..well..people make mistakes.

If you find yourself standing around, feeling totally jaded, watching your team kill a group of monsters that was accidentally pulled because someone was a fraction of a second ahead of you and wanting to “teach these bads” about pulling etiquette then perhaps it’s time to take a break from any roles with more responsibility than “kill the things.”

This was the first pull of a dungeon that 1. The monsters aren’t even visible, they run out from the back when someone is close enough and 2. Their LoS is ridiculous, I don’t think the MCH was even in the first room before they ran at him.

People should be given the benefit of the doubt. When you queue as a tank you are taking on a leadership role. I know the tank struggle when people face pull and I suck it up and do my job instead of standing around. If the offender doesn’t stop after being asked then by all means, stand around and do nothing, or vote kick them out or “disconnect.”

Farming Void Ark for the healer gear b/c I really like it. I only needed a couple more pieces. I also want Echidna's minion. I go in as AST because I'm wanting to get more comfortable with it so I've been doing a lot of stuff on AST lately.

Co-healer is an AST. Coolios! They cast protect and I wait for them to choose a sect.
And wait.
And wait.
I say "hey, fellow AST, choose a sect?" No reply.
The raid starts so I figure, fine I'll choose Diurnal. Get almost up to the first boss and they finally choose a sect: Diurnal.

Why? Why would you not oppose your fellow healer? (Last run I had a WHM; you guys can Regen but can't shield so I go into Noct; if you're a Scholar, I go Diurnal so you can do shields and I can regen). Ok, fine, we're not in battle so I swap to Noct. I'm pulling cards, Royal Roading when I can, applying buffs and shields when needed. I'm watching what my co-heal does and all I'm seeing them do is cast Malefic and Aspected Helios, as well as spamming Celestial Opposition for some reason before any of the fights had started. They're holding onto cards; I'm not seeing any of them being applied to anyone. I'm not seeing them cast any heals other than the odd Aspected Helios. I'm actually dipping under 50% MP because of this. I should never be dipping that low, not when you have two healers!

So, I'm the one running around like a headless chicken trying to keep everyone healed up, meanwhile the whole alliance spreads out every which way in every fight and while I try to space myself opposite my co-heal, I'm realizing that they're not actually...healing. At one point, 3 people were dead because I couldn't run to them fast enough and co-healer wasn't even attempting to.

Asked co-healer for some help. No reply.
Then, I end up dying while trying to run to our tank (who was closest to the co-heal) because they were taking damage that wasn't being healed (they were under 30% health with lots of boss left to fight). Co-heal actually raises me (shock!)

Absolutely the most stressful "older" (still newish to me!) raid outside of Dun Scaith. I primarily heal in these raids because my queue times are faster than DPS (although I only BLM in Dun Scaith b/c of that first boss).

Walked out with 2 pieces of gear, no minion (rolled an 80, winner rolled 90), and one comm. I usually comm my co-heal. Not this time.

Dang, Kakiko. You seem to have the worse luck. At least you got some equipment. Hope I get into HW soon then I can be your co-healer.

Time for a happy feels story.

Working on my PLD, queued into Qarn Normal, still re-learning how to tank and practicing stance dancing. Tell me if I'm wrong, but I keep on my Shield Oath for regular mobs. I'm not too comfortable dropping it for mobs quite yet (I'm not even lvl 45). Get to the first boss, and before I pull, I ask the healer if they were alright with me stance dancing (I'm starting to get comfortable with going into Shield on bosses...but then again, these are early bosses). I had a bad experience before where the healer chewed me out for going Sword on a boss because they had to heal me more, even though they never dropped under 50% MP.

I wait for a bad response...

Instead, the healer says no need to ask, I'll keep you.

I took that as a sign of approval and went into Sword for every boss. Really fun group. Wish I could've commended all three of them. Didn't lose aggro one time, mobs were dying fast, and the dungeon was a smooth run.
