The mecha aoe actions in RW is kinda all over the place when it comes to latency. There are times you clearly got outside the aoe but get hit anyway. And when you're in a mech, you're 100% sure you hit dat healer but, no, apparently they got away. Yet other times, in mechs, you get surprised your aoe landed as the ones you were aiming for clearly got away...

I think they did emergency maintenance on Chaos to help alleviate some issues.

I know tanks in Feast have latency issues. There are times when I'll do bloodspiller and it won't go off until 10 seconds later - when I *don't* need it to. Hard to coordinate things when that happens.

Sounds like a personal latency issue. Tank actions like bloodspiller, take no longer time to activate than anything else. Certainly not an entire 10 seconds. At least with my connection.

The biggest general latency related issues tend to be, running after a player using melee attacks causing the actions to reset and not go through, Pushes and pulls not being reliable as to when you hit the button or where the player actually is, the same goes for AoE attacks in general and player positioning being off due to general latency.

Player positioning being off leads to the trouble involving AoE/PushBack/Pull/Melee range attacks in general acting wonky. There was a dev posta while back about fixing this issue with general latency involving player positioning but it was never said when it would be put into place.

Latency and PING are extremely important factors in PvP and FFXIV has NEVER done well with it. I play with 150+ ms average on NA servers and 20- ms on EU and it's night and day. Playing melee on NA is hell because it's super hard to stay connected to targets, especially on DRG where Jump keeps creating a gap from moving targets, whereas on EU it's really easy to work around. It's a major dps loss (and in PVE too.... whatever SE says about "the game being designed to work fine with 200 ms", sure it works, it' definitely not optimal, and it's DEFINITELY bad for pvp). Try hitting a healer that pole dances around pillars or trees and you're going to whiff most abilities if you don't have a good PING. I also don't get as much random D/Cs on EU as I do on NA. But at this point complaining about latency is a lost cause.
