considering the amount of dps BLM puts out I still think its a no go. SMN and RDM lack the raw power that BLM has. while I do agree SMN should loose raise due to its destructive nature and gain more dps power I don't see any changes like this in the foreseeable future.

Just to add my voice to the chorus, no, BLM does not have the power of SMN at the moment. Both RDM and BLM are choking on SMN's dust trail at the moment.

Also to add a few cents to this. SMN was never about having destructive nature but being able to do constant damage over time, and I don't just mean with DOTs or the pet but by not being punished much at all if needing to move around or having to help with rez and other utilities. BLM on the other hand should be the one linked with destruction, it's just not been the case since HW I'd say.

If BLM gets buffs on the same level as SMN got recently then we might actually have some progress, and they can reclaim top damage caster status.

Since they need to make up for less freedom during movements, lack of support for magical dmg and lack of support brought to the raid by themselves

Since the dot's buffs, SMN was already the stronger mage, yes.

Also on the illusion of BLM having better burst that some people have: this haven't been true anymore since Heavensward launch.

As others have indicated blm lacks the damage. That is what it is suppose to bring is pure damage hence the lack of mobility compaired to other jobs but it fails at that when smn brings more damage + it has utility

To follow up on this, BLM doesn't really have burst at all right now. They have very consistent damage. They don't have much ramp up time after they have stacks, and they pretty much stick to that amount of damage the entire fight.

The only personal buffs BLM has are pots and Ley Lines really. I miss Raging + Foe-BV, it would be amazing to get something like that back.
