Nah. At least with a rake or hoe, the pointy end is in a somewhat reasonable position to poke things with.

Scythes are... I mean, the edge is facing towards the wielder. Attacking anything with it means they have to be inside your reach. You have to pull back to cut. Swinging the scythe, the best you can hope for is bonking your opponent with the handle, because the blade is never going to be in a position to effectively cut.

A little fantasy flash and flair might sorta cover that up a little bit. But it still won't look quite right if you take any time to actually watch it.
