Scythes weren't just a harvesting tool in the old days, they were also used at the same time as a weapon, so your first point is null. Going further down that logic, both Warrior and Botanist use an axe, so I don't see the point of your first statement at all. One further point on that section is scythes and sickles are not actually the same thing, scythes generally have a long handle with a curved blade and sickles will have either a short handle or a long handle with a side grip.

Saying "oh there's a cosmetic scythe just be happy with that" is a terrible argument as well. Not to mention arguing that Drk is traditionally a great sword user when I acknowledged that in my post is actually just a waste of everyone's time. Drk was a great sword user, but it was also the ONLY job that could equip endgame scythes in FFXI. Making it a Scythe job. Sure it preformed better with Great Sword, but Great Sword never really became the go-to weapon until Resolution came out.
