    I am on a Japanese server (Asura). My question is: how do you actually make contact with other players? Everybody seems to be chatting via Link Shells (only), which are invitation-only...

    Can you explain what you mean by "search for player"? (Total noob here.)

    Try making a thread on the Jp side of the forums, in general, use Jp text of course and you might get some better responses.
