People can send you /tells from other servers. It means more troublesome people who can possibly message you, after they were pissing everyone off in whatever run they could have been doing. I know once I was able to blacklist people from other servers that I managed to max out my blacklist easily, with me still running into more troublesome players. GMs always say 'make sure you blacklist Sir Blahington', but you can't actually do that when you've MANY times the amount of people that can be blacklisted now. It's something that should have been given once we could add friends/send tells to people on other servers.

But you shouldn't need more than 200 slots. Clear out the top ~20 or so names once a week and you should be fine:

If you can't remember why some of the older names are on there, take them off. If it was over something petty, take them off after a few days or so when both of you have cooled off or otherwise forgotten about it. Or stop blacklisting people over petty nonsense in the first place. Old RMT names are always safe to remove since they get banned on a regular basis (but banned characters do not show up as (deleted) so I hope none of your are hoarding RMT names waiting for that).

GMs do advocate placing problematic players onto your blacklist to resolve most squabbles (and so do I, for the record), but that doesn't mean you need to leave them all on the list indefinitely to the point where your list is always full. If you're always blacklisting people to the point where you're "easily" maxing out the 200 limit, I don't think anything besides an infinite list will help you anyway; you're just going to cap again in no time if you don't regularly purge off older names.

With this character's death, the thread of prophecy remains intact.

Pardon me for supporting increasing the blacklist size when we can friend/blacklist. Many people I have on my blacklist I've had for a good while, for reasons I can remember, which I don't need to go into here. What you would call petty would be a very valid reason for many other players. There's no one definite reason for adding someone to the blacklist.

Other MMO RPGs have a much bigger friend/blacklist that are free to play, so I don't know why a Pay to Play MMO RPG has to be so limiting.

Edit: I don't blacklist RMT, so don't assume my list is full because of them.
