I have been pretty busy with Thanksgiving prep. My phone is acting up/slowly dying. I've sort of accidentally been wrangled into helping out a friend which is turning into a part-time job I don't want.

At the end of the day I just want to relax a bit, maybe play some video games with friends. Had a lovely expert roulette with just FC mates today, after which 3 of us decided to do our Rabanastre runs. We thought "oh, reset just happened, how dumpsterfirey can it be?"

How wrong we were.

We are in alliance B. We have an awesome WAR from our FC tanking, I'm on WHM and we have another member along on MNK. Our party seems pretty cool, some of them also know each other, it's off to a good start.

Mateus is taking forever. I'm the only one standing in my water spout, the healers in A go down crazy fast and their tank was MTing so I take over healing him as my cohealer gets those healers up. The DPS is so slow they dont kill two of the aqua spheres (only ours dies) and the sheer length of the fight is just rediculous. We don't wipe but with as long as it dragged I'm glad for WHM's limitless MP.

We get a brief respite on the trash pack, I rescue our tank into the red chocobo meteor to kill him which is always nice.

Hashmal goes as well as you'd think. When it comes time to kill sand spheres we down ours then the tank and I run off to help with one while our MNK helps down the other. Again no wipes, again so much pain.

You'd think Rofocale would be cake after that. Nope. We wipe 2 times to the ad phase because A cant just kil their add. They're blaming other people and even ask to kick our tank (my fc mate) because some of our ad's AoE was in their area. Like, what? Those AoE's always overlap. As a healer it's your job to keep everyone up when they eat them (just like I was doing) but alas, I digress.

We wind up having to send our MNK over to A's add and still down ours first, oh look maybe the problem was actually your group's crap DPS.

After that run I called it a day, too many salty idiots screeching to kick our tank (who, according to my friend who is a psychic was 5th in DPS for the entire raid) instead of just doing their damn job.

Worst part? Didn't get loot, looks like I'm going again tomorrow.

If I would create a group like you aimed to, I would write something like "Practice from beginning, but hoping to get the clear in the end! No experience needed but please have watched a guide." The more clearly you describe your expectations the likely you are to get a group that responds to them.

Thank you for this, it was my first time using party finder and I didn't realise 'Clear' could have those connotations. I plan to attempt Susano Ex this weekend, so I'll try setting up the party with your description to see if that gets a better response.

I still need a totem to pick up my next Susano weapon, if you want to message me on Discord whenever you want to go I'll come with you. I'll go on WHM and that way even if we get some bad eggs I'll probably be able to salvage it.

got cutters on my alt, i went as a lvl48 war. i don't remember seeing a bonus (it was confirmed at the end there was) but the healer had a sprout icon. we had a few hiccups during the second boss but the real magic happened at the end. the ast and rdm died halfway through the chimera (literally half!!) so i was left with the badass ninja who eventually bit the dust too, leaving me to solo it for about 20%. needless to say i solo'd it and my fav response at the end was "WOW CLUTCH!" i got two comms. :')

Well, now I've seen everything. A Scholar who refuses to Protect.
Expert roulette, Skalla. Red, DPS. Green, Scholar.

And sure enough, even after asking in multiple ways, nope.
The 2 DPS were not hesitant to boot the Scholar as soon as possible.

Got a replacement White Mage. And everything went smooth as butter.
Well, almost. I did the 3-pack pull leading up to the 2nd boss, and the WHM got cleaved by something and died. Instant rez by the RDM, some Clemency and a Benediction later, and we go through without wiping. An excellent recovery!
As for the final boss... Well, this was the first time I've seen an entire party avoid all vulnerability stacks and the confusion. Wish I could have commended you all!

That's like...super weirdly dumb because assuming he didn't want it to take up an additional spell slot, all he had to do was cast it then swap back to whatever he had. I always wonder if these kinds of people do this all the time and what other reactions are like lol

Continues the rest of the way with zero cooldowns, spinning every mob/boss like a top....Wiped at least three times because of it...

But the player was a mentor of mentors....

Does PvP count? There was a WHM from the opposing team in Rival Wings attacking our tower alone. I just happened to pass by and he ran behind a wall to /playdead. I guess he expected me to think he was dead? I wasn't going to attack him from how amused I was but he attacked me first. Felt bad killing him because of how hilarious it was to me that he pretended to be dead.
