I wish dps wasn't foisted upon the other roles personally, at least not to the point it is enforced by the hard enrage. Being able to be a good tank, to have a clear goal and party role when you sit down and play has its merits too.

It was fun until your cohealer in Dun Scaith was perpetually glued to it while half your team is dead at Loli Queen of Wipes and they refuse to do any rezzing/healing because "muh deeps". F*** your deeps, it is not going to make up for the damage the dead DRG, SMN, and MCH could bring if you would do your primary job in the 1st place.
I'm glad Cleric Stance is dead.
I honestly can say I don't think I ever did experience that. Mind you, I didn't even think about touching healers until the last bit of HW, so it's possible there may have been a fix for it by that time(or I just got super lucky...which would explain why mounts drop so rarely when I run things). All because of the Garo PVP event did I end up leveling my healers.
Cleric stance seemed fun at first but then it became this tedious on/off switch that people couldn't stop harping about even if you were healing and dpsing. Plus, as someone pointed out, there issues where you clicked it and it wouldn't activate or turn off.
I personally prefer the truly life and death situations where everyone's taking massive dmg and only split second decisions on how to heal will help survive the onslaught. What a rush!
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
Not a Cleric Stance problem, just a bad healer problem. Stance dancing with Cleric Stance was my second favorite thing about XIV and my favorite thing about healing. Sure, the buggy/laggy part of it could've been tweaked, but it was extremely satisfying and rewarding to use properly. It's permanently changed my thoughts on healers in every single game going forward in how I want them to be designed. It was fun until your cohealer in Dun Scaith was perpetually glued to it while half your team is dead at Loli Queen of Wipes and they refuse to do any rezzing/healing because "muh deeps". Absolutely agree.
It made healing much more engaging and fun.
The thing about healing and tanking is trying to fit as much damage in as you can while doing your other job. This is primarily why I find DPS classes to be dull, because other than dps checks specifically it's not all that fun. Suppose that's just my opinion on them of course.

I think this came down to many people not realizing a skill queue exists. If you're in the middle of a cast and you press an oGCD, like Cleric Stance, you'll use the skill the instant the cast is over.
I know a lot of the people that complained about it to me, I found out was waiting until they were done casting, or cancelled their casts before attempting to disable cleric stance. I've never really had an issue with it's so called delay.
Of course there is still the risk:reward, but that isn't a bad thing at all.

You must be a masochist then. I can't say I ever enjoyed stance switching with healers before 4.0. And if you stance danced, you better be sure you either don't have any lag, the tank doesn't get an unexpected buster, or accidentally start healing with cleric stance on, otherwise you're likely to wipe the party. I don't know where this idea of doing roles aren't "engaging enough," to the point players want to risk wiping the party for speed-kill meta. If the jobs in this game aren't that satisfying, play something elseNot a Cleric Stance problem, just a bad healer problem. I’m not great at focusing on a whole bunch of different things at the same time, so as things stand, I prefer to play the dps roles with the red backgrounds as opposed to the blue and green dps jobs. Personally I would probably prefer it if the game was tuned so that healer and tank dps was less of a focus, so if I played a healer or tank I would only have to focus on fulfilling one role instead of two, but I’m also really not too fused over it one way or the other. It’s ok how it already is as people are enjoying their roles and there are other classes I can play.

It was a simple case of 'git gud'. Except the majority of the playerbase can't handle that, so they just removed it to dull things down for us even more. Give yourselves a pat on the back, maybe in 5.0 we'll actually have one button rotations for everything.
