Maybe they are a new player?
Nope just a very bad one....
That last boss in the vault is a major skill check point for healers. It's really a do or die moment the first time you come across it. Nothing before it comes close, not even the other bosses in that dungeon.
Fun fact though: I've solo healed it as Red Mage when the sprout healer we were with completely broke down the first two attempts. It was insane with many many sphincter clenching moments, and it helped that we had a Paladin who could occasionally Clemency themselves but I managed it.
Fwiw there's literally no point dpsing the snakes at all if they're too close. The amount of damage that can go through is so negligible that stopping everything and asking them to be separated in chat is the most efficient thing to do.This annoys me too that it still happens. Worse is when I am tanking, doing my job by keeping one snake to one side, and the other tank tries to join the two snakes or grab mine (lol nope), and then one or two DPS get all snarky at both tanks fighting for aggro, instead of actually DPSing. Then, on the second try, the other tank held their one snake away from mine, and the snarky DPS kept their mouths shut.
Wonder if that was my group. We had same issue and healer left, got a new one and next run was cleared. That was this morning. Tho I put my bad run down to a tank in lvl 48-50 gear (obv not upgraded since finishing ARR or just refused to spend money on new gear and equip any of the new gear they got in previous quests) and a DPS (SMN I think it was) who wouldn't wait on a res and would return to start second they died leaving them out boss battle. And was so horrible at it I had to beg them to vote kick me out before they ran out of time.
They got a new healer in and less than 5 minutes later, they had cleared the final boss that kept killing us.
*sigh*
So, to the random Olivia that joined us initially: I am so sorry for making you go through all of that. It was a mess.
If that was you I apologise. Your cure button took a pounding with that tank. 1hit took off about 25%hp.
Sorry that happened to you. The Vault is notorious for being healer unfriendly. You can be the best healer out there and a bad group can make it impossible to finish the last boss. Watch for Bardem and Doma castle as well, tanks will attempt to over pull in here and blame the healer without understanding how hard the enemies tend to hit.
I am really curious as to how the whole conversation went as I've never seen that before. Also....didn't anyone notice at the beginning of the dungeon? I mean at least the tank should have noticed as soon as the dungeon started.

No one noticed before I brought it up I think the other 2 were newer players.
The whole conversation is in the screenshots besides the reason they gave which essentially was a troll response and was kind of racist so I didn't include it just in case.
Which I did. While holding hate on my snake, and also while we wiped.
I've tanked the second snake in SAM. I think any reliably sturdy melee with good DPS can do it. While the group kills the snake on the actual tank all you need to do is attack the other snake and keep it off the healers. It hits pretty hard, you certainly need at least one healer who is paying attention, but it's 100% possible even in a pug.The last 4-5 Bismarck NM groups I've been in have wiped at least once to snakes. Normal mode. Not Extreme. The story version where the mechanics are literally hit things until they die and don't fall off, and tank the snakes.
Most tanks just don't grab the snakes until the second, third, or even fourth attempt. Some tanks fall off the platform repeatedly and the entire run is void each and every time they do, for every single player.
And every single other player can do nothing about it. You can't just raise them. You can't just take extra time. You can't just have someone else do it.
This is why people quit certain trials immediately.
That being said I agree it's a needless hoop to jump through, people just shouldn't fall off.
My big pet peeve with Bismark is DPS who don't stand on his back to DPS the carapace/corona. If I heal it again I think I'm gonna take rescue with me, if the rescue kills them instead of getting them onto the boss oh well they aren't doing any less damage than before.
