Regarding Player Casinos

Every casino I've run into on my system advertises over and over.

That is on the person, not on the whole "casino" thing. And yes, it is oversensitiveness, at least in some cases. There were multiple people in this thread that said they blacklist the person the first time they advertise that casino of theirs. And there was even someone that said they instantly blacklist the players as well.

I can understand that if someone is spamming whatever repeatedly, that it is disruptive. But one needs to also know that "gambling" is a form of chat as well. It's no different from players role-playing stuff...except there are more people that don't care about it at all. Though it should be kept to a reasonable degree and there is no need to use Shout chat if all the players are right next to the "casino", where Say would suffice.

talked to the gm myself in ff11, they said it was against tos. It was more then 1 gm. Also again was added to tos much like MPK around the late game just b4 ff14s 1.0 launch.

I could be miss remembering, but i recall a POL message about it years ago. Due to the large spam, and scam reports from them.

Pretty much like in other MMOs online gamble and all what has to do with RMT is pretty much against the law in pretty much every country around the world.

So, no. We don´t need online gambling or casino with RMT involved.

That wasn't the Point of the Thread. The OP asked if he could make use of a Casino Ingame which is allowed regarding the ToS.
There is a difference if you Gamble with Real Life Money or plainly just Ingame Currency, one is forbidden in different Countries, while the other can't be forbidden at a Point.

About RMT being against the Law, there is no Law against it, it is a Agreement that everyone of us accepted, which Square Enix set up of course.

This also does not fall under the Catigory RMT, as you simply can't control which Player has bought Gil beforehand which they use to Gamble.
This is like saying :

"Selling Clears for 50-100M Gil should be forbidden aswell, RMT is definitely included!"

I’m talking circa 2005-2006 during the mass RMT ban, which included casinos. Simply put, it was not in the TOS and they added it much later (in detail) around 2009.

Shout or Say still clutters up chat. As I said it wouldn't bother me if it were in private. Another alternative would be to create a market chat channel for people who want to sell a service or product.

As far as adding to blacklist I've done it for a few players who seem to run the most casino's and spam their runs. I haven't blacklisted any casino players as they don't spam stuff to chat not to mention the BL would be full in no time.

Everything that you are not participating in clutters chat. It's not about it being something you want or not. I said that one should use whatever chat is least "wide" for fulfilling whatever duty the message is supposed to fulfill.

For people that don't hunt, hunt calls are "cluttering their chat" just as well. But I don't see anyone complaining about someone making a shout "X is at Y, A rank!" and then posting stuff like "Pull at 6:50", "Anyone coming?!".

It's all about being reasonable. It's an MMO game and there is 0% chance of you not coming across chat that you are not interested in...unless you turn off ALL chats. Yes, even party and free company. Heck, even then, you'll still get system messages that you may not want, some can't be turned off. The question is, whether the person does not interrupt the chat in excess, aka. posting more often than an average person would while having a perfectly normal chat. The topic, theme of the chat, is irrelevant in this case (so long as it's within the rules/law).

I don't know, nor do I care, about whether you in particular are oversensitive or not. I know for a fact that the amount of people that are oversensitive in comparison to those that are not that I met in this game is significantly higher than the ration of the same ten years back in a different game. A game where "Market Chat" was almost literally never stopping with all manners of discussion (trade included). It may just be "my luck", it may be an actual change in the personality of the gaming populace...I don't care either way. It is purely opinion and I know better than to expect anyone caring about it, let alone changing themselves, assuming they even would consider themselves oversensitive in the first place. Nearly all of em would say that they're not if asked, I'm sure.

im talking 2009-2011-2013 ish 2011-2013 was the last time i logged in to ff11.

I just encountered one of these players trying to run their own casino using /random and felt like asking the person a few questions. I was told that the player had talked to the GM about it and that this activity was allowed. I didn't want to get into a debate about it right there. so, here I am trying to figure out how this not violate ToS and how to ask the GM for clarification on the issue.
