I decided to do a bit of touch up work in my house and move furnishings. Frustrating as the DDoS was it resulted in some interesting furnishing placements. It was fun to play musical chairs with everyone guessing where the chair would end up next.

Then give up. Give in. Let the DDoSers force you off the game you like.I don't necessarily blame SE for this, but the game is getting to be legit unplayable regardless. I'd like to meet this with a stiff upper lip, but frankly, I find myself playing or doring other things to avoid the aggravation. If my sub were up anytime soon, I'd probably let it lapse. Not to send a message or anything, but why pay for a product that's causing me frustration?
As much as this lag irritates me, I remember playing Asheron's Call in 2001 with a ping of anywhere from 400ms to 2500ms simply because I was on dialup. I also played it uphill both ways in the snow with no shoes. And so far, everyone here has been understanding when lag strikes in dungeons and the like. Apart from a little annoyance, this DDoS crap is just like the OP said: A temper tantrum that will be over soon and no one will remember or care. ^_^
As much as I agree with the overall air of this thread, you're missing the point this is a game. If it causes people aggravation it's directly counterproductive to its intended purpose of providing enjoyable entertainment. Not to mention that as far as the DDoS is concerned this is not our war to fight. The win here is that people haven't mass unsubscribed, not that they fight this windmill by staying logged in.
I heard they have sounded the alarm in China due to the mass bannings of their rmt-sellers. Their economy can't stand this.If I didn’t know better, I would honestly think it was China angry that their RMT-Sellers were getting mass banned. That or perhaps Russia upset about the rate increase. It’s fun sometimes to theorize who could be behind such a waste of time as DDOSing an MMO. Perhaps it is a bunch of kids bored out of their gourd trying to be edgey
Regardless, just gonna keep logging in. Some people blame Canada, I blame RMT-Sellers.
I've been so busy with RL stuff during this whole mess but every time I logged in, I'd afk for a couple mins..come back and 90k lol. I don't blame SE, I blame the people doing the DDOS attacks.
Hope this all gets sorted out soon so everyone can go back to enjoying the game![]()
It's typically EU "hacker" groups that do these things. I won't mention names since they want attention. Expect it to ramp up for the holidays.

i heard it mostly salty people over ultimate coil. Which is around the time stuff started.
You would think Interpol would be on top of all cyber crimes instead of 30 years behind the power curve of these problems. Make me wonder if they think the internet still runs on dial-up and AoL.
