Do people actually say "Mateus natives" unironically..? I thought that was just a joke lol.

So lots of newcomers came to Mateus, and the people already there did not like it. Fair enough so far. Can’t edit on mobile.
It causes lag in areas where there didn’t used to be, people disconnecting from how crowded it is, and tons of people that us folks that started on Mateus didn’t know.
Not to mention actual login queues to the server which NEVER happened before because our server was so tiny. I don’t blame the OP for wanting to leave.
So now people are leaving in order to be newcomers on some other server, where the people already there will .... like it?!?
Is it only me, or is there some kind of irony here?
Oh, and there are no tiny servers anymore. SE made sure of that with their system of congested/preferred servers.
Any preferred world. But keep in mind you'll just have to move later. My guild members and I are just really turned off by what Mateus has become. As someone who started out in Mateus over a year ago I really miss what it used to be like. What would, in your opinion, be a good server to move to that has a small Rp community hopefully with newer players in general. Thanks for the input, not trying to ruffle any feathers saying Mateus is bad, I just miss how it used to be.
That's more of a problem with your internet connection on the first part. Apparently you're not handling P2P connections well. It happens. Comcast was awful about it for the longest time - I could always tell when someone was in the area on SWTOR because I'd get a slight hitch right before connecting with them. (Virtually all MMOs use some form of P2P connection.)Can’t edit on mobile.

The latter is due to ongoing DDoS attacks. The only actual legitimate login queue I've seen so far for Mateus was when 4.1 dropped. The rest has been DDoS bullmess.

Legit curious where lag is happening that is caused by players on screen and not the ddosCan’t edit on mobile.

Mateus grew, but its not huge lol
This was caused by the large amount of crowding early on at ixion when it was a thing. It caused issues with player pop in and caused me to disconnect a few times. Would not have happened when Mateus was still super small.Originally Posted by Rokkes

The login queues were happening to people during the stormblood launch as well. “It’s the launch of an expac! Of course there are queues!” Again, would not have happened during the old population numbers for Mateus with only a few hundred players at peak hours.
Now to be fair, I can’t definitively prove it wouldn’t have happened and I could be wrong, but I’m not so I’m not going to worry about it.
As for someone wanting to transfer to a smaller server and irony? It’s not exactly the same when you compare one person transferring to literally several hundred. Although it has made me wonder if the whole situation caused anyone to change their minds on the concept of immigration.

I haven't ever really seen a login queue except after patches, and hunts really aren't that busy, other than the insane bit after the expansion drop. Seems like a lot of people have moved off since the 90 restrictions lifted. Can’t edit on mobile.

For the record, I’m not happy about the massive influx of people for reasons I already mentioned. But those of us that liked the small server have lost, we get it. Doesn’t mean we have to like it.
However at the same time, I believe it’s better for the health of the server economy as it’s made prices a lot more reasonable and it allowed my fc to grow when it wouldn’t have been able to. But due to the massive influx it ruined any chances of us moving to a large so I was forced to give up my personal house and convert it in to my personal house. Again, never would have been an issue in the old Mateus where more than half the wards were empty.
Convert my personal house to an fc house* damn mobile and lack of ability to edit. -.-
