    Just want to play black mage, man.

    I'm a black mage main, being forced to play RDM/SMN in unending coil prog atm (not by my team, but by the current caster situation). That's fine. I get it. Raises here, raises there, jajajajaja! I'm fine with playing RDM/SMN in unending prog. (not really, but whatever)

    The real problem though, is that now, thanks to the shared gear system, I can't even properly play BLM anymore for fun in casual content like shinryu traps, dungeons, or savage, because all my caster gear is now melded with DH/crit, instead of SS, which causes my fire 4's to take 2 weeks instead of 2 seconds to cast. It plays horrible like this.

    This racism really has to stop. Black mages have feelings too!







    My suggestion: You could make it so that every piece of raidgear has 2 or 3 "materia sets", so that you can simply switch from full SS to full crit/DH, with the press of a button, without having to remove and remeld all materia every time, just because you want to play more than 1 job.

    Might not be the best solution since you're trying to do unending coils, but I put together for myself a more "generic" caster build I'm working on that settles around 1300 spell speed and puts all other efforts into crit and direct hit. This seems to work out well as when I have that amount of spell speed on RDM my mana fills to being able to execute a melee combo right at the time that corps-a-corps comes off cooldown. Though with a lot of up time, that much spell speed does start to cause mana issues.

    That said as a band-aid solution, I would also really love to have materia sets at least on blue gear. It's been a compromise for me melding for Samurai and for Monk as the two jobs don't value the same stats. But I can see how someone with a penta-melded crated piece of gear wouldn't want to have to do that every time for every job that shares that piece. I'm thinking of tanks specifically for this example.

    Nah, sometimes one death here and there are completly recoverable. SMN just have lots more damage and can cover that one single death. RDM helps on Nael prog since you need quick raises ASAP to not die to ice and then you can see more of the fight.

    Yes here and there, def you don't want any deaths in the last 6 mins anyway
    or in nael's phase since that can snowball thingis extremely easily

    Yes they do dear. Near infinite rezzing has been invaluable during neal prog for us, I promise you.

    I really feel for blms in unending right now. It's already rough as a non-blm caster, poor blms must have it horrible.

    Also: some deaths are recoverable, but mostly you wanna try anyway for the sake of prog...unless it's early twister deaths.
