They're not even relevant to the leveling process afaik so there's nothing stopping you from getting them when you've settled comfortably into your level 70 gear

That is just lazy, and in my opinion if you can not put the 20 mins of effort in then you do not deserve it, go and try do them at lvl 50 and then complain they are hard...
People these days want rewards for doing nothing.
I hate to agree with you but I do. On my ALC, I did the craft at level 54 and I had a choice at the end: risk it going NQ at 74% chance and finish it, or try to increase quality and have a failed craft. I took the chance and got it HQ with a masterbook II. This is with level 50 gear and melds (ixali ilvl 70 hands). Even at 59-60 the books are hidden behind scripts which are from collectibles. Granted, those are reliant on how well you can HQ an item which means melds which at 60 would mean ironworks crafting set and melding it but it can be done-just a sink in terms of cost for matera and materials (crafting matera hasn't gone down in price like DOW matera so it's a pretty penny on my server. Three ironworks pieces-2 armor and 1 accessory with 3 V (2 craftmanship, 1 control) matera cost like 500k for HQ versions off the MB.)

Progressing craft classes gets you free gear and a ton of materia for 50-60 quests (Note: so does 60-70 including gear rewards) The books via crafting for hq to swap are actually a joke at how easy they are to make when in comparison to how hard they used to be, if they cause this much trouble then lvl crafters to 60 and learn to use the skills from other craft classes.
These books were designed for lvl 50 crafters, yet now you can reach lvl 70 so if it really is that hard for someone to do it at 50, then progress towards 60 or 70 and then go back and get them.
Even the new lvl 70 item of the flying mount is a joke to craft if you know how to do it (11k progress to complete)

My problem is those damn Fieldcraft Demimateria 3 that are required for the 2nd books.
I don't mind crafting but desything in the hopes of getting even 1 of those is just so tedious.
They are very easy to craft at your level, the only annoying part is that the craft require mats that are locked behind a timetable. The fieldcraft demimateria on the otherhand...
I find that collectible crafting for scrips is WAY harder than HQ items for the Master books. Perhaps you should check online for some HQ craft rotations for your level. There are many many resources that kind players have posted up. There are also many you tube videos out.
Good luck on the leveling!

Hai! I'm Vahl, in ur mmorpgs, sort'n my inventory and putt'n 2 many H's in my name since FFXI..FFXIV Inventory Tetris Champ

Since his crafting classes are lvl 59-60, he probably bought the HQ items for the pre-SB quests.
I'm sure he'll make a thread complaining that he has to HQ the 60-70 quest items himself![]()

I hope for the 70-80 quests they involve collectability into the quests. You have to provide an item with the maximum amount of collectability as possible. But here's the kicker: you can only craft them within a special crafters duty, which forces minimum itemlevel sync on your character. And the minimum itemlevel is set brutally harsh, so you have to be perfect (with perfect melds) and get good RNG to boot to have even a ghost of a chance of completing it successfully. Having tried to do the master books II at level 50 crafters already, I think it needs to be made much harder. Oh, and after completing each quest, you get a consumable item which teaches you how to craft any items until the next quest's level, outside of the instanced duty (bit like a Master Book). So you need those quests to be able to advance and unlock new post-SB crafts.
Oh, and any SB or earlier item/leve will stop giving XP once you hit 70, so again, you have to do the quests and unlock the new crafts to be able to gain XP and level up. The salt would be insane.

White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
