There's really no punchline or story to this other than me sighing and going "uuugh!" Well, that and I could see all my hopes and dreams, of getting another race that appeals to me, evaporating right in front of my eyes, but that's a discussion for another thread lol.

Well, that was a weird Samurai.
Started spamming Mangetsu only on the first trash pull. Not the Fuga–Mangetsu combo. Just Mangetsu. I recommended he start doing the full combo... And for the rest of the run there is no Fuga, Mangetsu or Oka to be seen. So he just abandoned the AoE altogether (sans Tenka Goken and Kenki spenders).
    huh
The last boss I just tanked in full Sword Oath. The 30-minute duration of the dungeon up to that point kinda told me it'd be fine. No aggro issues.
It's also still apparently a foreign concept for people to look away from eye of the fire and to get away from the raised tail... I was going to explain them after the boss, but they all just left :/
Healer did a fine job keeping me alive though, through the slow run.

So. Alliance raid as BLM. Dun Scaith. Which took over a solid hour to complete.

    Highlights include:

    - Everyone dying to the simplest of things.
    - Even people who had supposedly completed it before.
    - Idiotic, useless sacks of failure who called themselves newbies and constantly yelled in chat about how they were new and/or inexperienced, as if it would distract the people carrying them.
    - Note that there was someone clearly explaining each fight's mechanics beforehand. You would be delusional to believe that said newbies actually bothered to read it.

But most of all, I'll detail one of the DRGs in my alliance. The DRG, who went into Dun Scaith with an ilvl 210 weapon, claiming he couldn't get anything better. Despite having a full set of either Hailstorm or Shire gear, I can't remember. The DRG, who conveniently got himself locked out of the very first fight, thus ensuring that he didn't have to participate or contribute. The DRG, who kept dying, complaining about being new, making countless excuses, and ensuring that he didn't have to contribute. The DRG, who, after a wipe to Scathach, said that his gear was now at 10%, and deliberately got himself locked out of the fight again.

Now, the decent thing to do at that point, would've been to just leave, take the penalty and let the party get a replacement. So of course, this DRG decided to AFK and hope nobody noticed he wasn't doing anything.

I've never felt so much satisfaction at kicking someone before. Even better, most of the gear that dropped that run happened to be caster gear, so I could ensure that he didn't get a single thing out of that run.

Yikes. Plenty of people haven't touched that raid for ages, which could explain being rusty. And for the sprouts, simply having a few lines of text tossed at you before the start of a fight doesn't mean they will execute things perfectly. Reading about something and experiencing it are two very different things.

I don't know if we had the same run here or we just had similar runs at a similar time but I also had a spicy hot mess of a dumpster fire here last night. There was also someone who clearly had a macro set to explain things during each fight, I believe a WHM in Alliance A who had another word for Miqo'te in their name? I know we can't name people but you'd know it if this was the case for you.

If we did have the same run (not saying we certainly did) but the biggest issue wasn't player skill or fight knowledge but rather massive lag spikes and disconnects. I know personally my group only had one healer throughout most of the run and when both were online one was usually dead. Our tank also didn't tank so if the MT wasn't on whatever I was hitting it was hitting me back, yay SAM enmity! I never fully DC'd myself but throughout the run there were gaps of up to ten seconds where I would have nothing happening around me and then the fight would catch up and I'd be dead from something.

If your run wasn't mine then you have my utmost sympathy, and either way that DRG sounds awful, but if we were in there together blame Comcast more than the rest of your alliance members. Lots of us know those fights but just can't do them literally blind from lag or while being forcibly logged out.

There is too much to name really, in the 1.5 years I've been playing but this incident really stands out and was strangely enough on my Alt.

Once, before Stormblood when Scripture was the premium currency, I was heckled in Void Ark for wearing full Garo gear. Their reasoning was that it was lazy. And perhaps it was if I hadn't already mercilessly grinded for Lore gear and the augment tokens on my main (x8), but seeing as Garo gear is 235 (farmable at lvl 50) and is just high enough to get me into Dun Scaith--why bother with Lore at all? I tried to explain this, but eventually the two hecklers were voted out. But still. Void Ark. The Satsasha of raids. Who even looks at what ppl are wearing beyond occasional asthetics? >_<

To be fair, back in the day Garo gear was bad because it had 0 accuracy. Still though, that doesn't excuse their behavior.
