Harmony between man and dragon prevailed for almost two hundred years, and the Ishgardians are notoriously good builders.i am not sure if you want to add this but i'm curious as to when the ruins in Dravania Forelands and esp Churning Mists were originally constructed if it indeed was the sixth astral era. I find it hard to believe all that was constructed in only a few years after Shiva was consumed by Hraesvelgr and then ultimately decimated with the death of Ratatoskr.
Was Ferndale destroyed in 1562? That would've made Estinien 17 at the time, unless I got something wrong. I was always under the impression that it happened in 1557, for some reason. 1557 would mean Estinien was 12, which seems to fit better with him being called a boy in his Dragonsong Tale.
I though this was one of the errors in the Encyclopedia and that the attack on Ferndale happened in 1557.

It was your post Romilda so am I missing something?

Whoops! Missed that while I was copying the lorebook timeline verbatim. You're correct! There's actually a fair number of typos I made in there that need to be fixed, too, so I will be on it.I though this was one of the errors in the Encyclopedia and that the attack on Ferndale happened in 1557.

Off-topic, but what's your source for the info on the Upright Thieves/Rogues' Guild? I've actually been looking for more details on them - if they're acting with official backing from the thalassocracy, or they're just vigilantes.
^They certainly became a guild when Merlwyb outlawed piracy (essentially just a name change) and she knows where they are and doesn't have a problem with them being there. In fact, she sends you to meet with one of them after Leviathan. The Lvl. 5 Rouge quest, Jacke says that the Upright Thieves agreed to follow by the Admiral's laws, so they probably do have the Thalassocracy's backing. It's just their MO has always been to work without being seen so Merlwyb has no good reason to tell people about that. Incidentally, one of the requirements of joining the Upright Thieves (even before Merlwyb took over) was to abandon pirate life so there wouldn't be any conflicting loyalties...

Good stuff.
All the info here is from various parts of Encyclopaedia Eorzea, mostly the section by the same name as this thread. I've been more active on updating the wiki page, though, and it includes links for further information.
I would note that some things are weird. Jacke Swallow is stated to be the first guildmaster of the Rogues' Guild but, at 27 years of age presently, he would have been 13 when it was founded.

Well I mean, he is a pirate. Some pirates started out young historically. Plus there's the factor it wasn't really a proper "guild" until after Merlewyb made her reforms so he was probably a fair bit older once it could officially be called a guild and he the "guildmaster"
