Why does it sound like everything and then some is promised for 2.0? Its gone from coming soon/looking into it/etc to: EXPECT IT IN 2.0!! It has gotten so out of hand people are just assuming at this point that the features they want will be in 2.0(even things never once mentioned) since they are promising the moon with it.

This may have been answered but will subscribers of the current engine/servers get to beta test 2.0? If so will they actually listen this time when every single beta tester says it sucks/needs more time in the cooker?

Uhm yes as I have seen all that. They intend for us to pay for a year, so they can fund the creation of 2.0. The stuff people complained about during beta still wont see the light of day until 2.0 and it will cost us roughly $120 give or take just to get there

They got us invested into a story, and now they are saying if you want to see the rest its time to pay. and yoshis call on this was that the current build now has Final Fantasy elements(chocobos and airships.) That is crap reasoning, they need funding to build the new engine. So if I don't pay I don't get the rest of the story GOOD MOVE.

I would of started paying at 1.19 aswell, now I am not sure I want to. I am a completionist. What if I am not able to tackle everything before 2.0 OH WELL its gone heres your new game...

yes auction house costs 1000s a month from player subs to implement... stripping of skills and the title of a job EXPENSIVE STUFF. no.. the money is going to the new game and servers plain and simple

How many GMs do they have on staff? How many are maintaining the servers? not a drop in the bucket compared to the staff working on the new game, not even close. And trust me the localization team is spending much more of their time on the new world as opposed to the few hundred lines we get with each patch

I don't mind paying for the band-aid content, but I can see that some people do, therefore I stand to my statement, I don't think any of his posts were trolling.
I for a while contemplated whether I wanted to pay for the obvious blidfold that is put on our eyes before 2.0 comes out, but since I have nothing better to do (and the love for FFXIV games) I will pay for it... at least for a bit.
However I do agree with some of the things the OP is saying - most of the content WILL BE GONE, it's there just to keep us busy while they fix the real thing. I might be missing some point here though... I can't be asked to read all again... Lol

I agre with the mount but I dont think the Patriot Choker to be rare as I expect to see it again at the next year ._.

You cant really treat 2.0 as just a patch. Its pretty much an entire remake of the game. The game will relaunch along with PS3 release. But if you have to treat as a patch... then I guess yea, you can call it a miracle patch.
