I’m sorry, but how is this a mentor being “incapable”, “arrogant”, or “incapable”? Maybe he was grabbing his daily quests as well? Or maybe he AFK’d for a moment in front of the NPC? Maybe he was reading the dialogue? Just because he’s standing near the Quest NPC doesn’t mean you can’t get the quests too. Unless he had parked his mount on top of him like people did with the Wood Wailer when PotD first released, I don’t really see how this is inconsiderate behavior....

First. If you are "grabbing" a Quest you are automatically dismounted.
And when you are reading the dialogue you are facing the NPC. He was looking away from the NPC...
Second: Like I wrote. He was there for a minimum of 3 Minutes
Third: Did you even read what I wrote? I wrote that he was hovering in a way so you could not see the Quest mark. He blocked him.

    Wow, 3 whole minutes.

Honestly, it sounds a bit like confirmation bias on your part. Someone parked on a quest giver for a couple of minutes is an inconvenience and yes, a little inconsiderate. But due to your obvious dislike of mentors as soon as you saw the crown you made the jump from something mildly annoying and possibly an unintentional mistake to something maliciously intended and purposefully directed at you and anyone else inconvenienced by it. Given the scanty evidence it's impossible to tell which was the case. Had he not had a crown would you have been more willing to give him the benefit of the doubt? Would you have been more willing to simply let it go rather than letting it gnaw on you like it obviously has been since you are still sore about it?

Some players are jerks. A lot are good people. Some are mentors. Some are not. All of those aspects overlap each other, but none of them constitute the entirety of any other group. Judge people on their behavior, not what symbol they may or may not have next to their name.

Tangentially related, if you hold down X (if you are on PC,) it allows you to click through other players to interact with NPCs or other items in the world. Hope that helps you should a similar situation arise in the future.

Dear Rymm. You are missing the whole Point. A Mentor is set to be a good example for new Player. And not only for them...

I know. But why do I have to do it anyway if it could be easily avoided by not blocking the NPC?
It was a stupid show off. So he could be sure that everyone had to notice his awesome chair. Simple as that.

I did read what you wrote. You said he hovered. You never explicitly stated that he had parked his mount on top of the quest giver (in fact, you never said he was on a mount at all—something people reading your comment would have to infer, and inferences can be incorrect); you never said that he was facing away from the NPC. Without all of the appropriate details, how are any of us supposed to draw an accurate conclusion? Provide more details if you want what you said to be more clear.

Even so, you sounded as if what he’d done was the absolute worst thing an individual could do. There are far worse things. Your other examples were more in line with what “bad mentors” do, but this one was questionable and unclear, at best. If it was that big of a deal, you know you could have reported him, and GMs would have made his character go poof, right? They did that a lot back when PotD was first released and people were parking the Behemoth mount on top of the Wood Wailer—a mount far larger than the flying chair (I’m assuming that’s the mount he was using, since you referenced him wanting to show off the chair he was riding in a later comment).

Perhaps you should take a step away and calm down a bit, because it seems like you got way too upset about me asking for confirmation and clarification of your story.

You talk about the hostility of mentors, but your entire post was unbelievably hostile...

I could have that super awesome crown that makes you so special (as you may think) for myself . But I know myself and I know how impatient I'm in some contents (Potd for example) and therefore I don't do it.
I don't want to be a bad example...there are enough of you out there.
Crown or no crown, you still aren’t being a good example with these sort of sweeping generalizations. Not all mentors are bad; not all of them are jerks. A lot of them, I’m sure, are tired of being lumped in with the poorer excuses for mentors. I know I am.
