The following revisions will be applied based on changes in gear attributes as a result of dyeing:
Items with a single variant: item attributes and equipping requirements will be unified.
Items with multiple variants: items with different attributes will be renamed, and new color variations added.

Well, any Felt Robe (Red) that you have now has the exact same properties as a 1.20 Felt Robe (Increases Mind) (Red). They'll just change the name accordingly.

I hope that since color =/= stat now, they will make it so that dyeing the gear does not destroy any attached materia.. that would be tragic.

Do expect that to happen, unless they change how it currently works; dyeing = regular crafting recipe = materia destroyed on process.
