All ARR Beastmen Quests gave mounts at Rank 4. When the Ixal got added, their mount came at Rank 7 along with the patch to increase the first 4 Beastmen to Rank 7. Rank 8 got you Allied with all of them. When HW came, they followed the Ixal and gave you the Mount at Rank 7. You had to get them all to Rank 8 to get the Allied Rank 9 Quest. Now that SB drops, I don't get a mount? For shame SE. I'm hoping it there when I get to Rank 8 but if it's not... The mount is already there. There is no reason why I shouldn't have my Sting Ray Mount now....

It's SB now, not HW or ARR. You can make the comparisons all you want but it doesn't mean that the order has to be the same.
They didn't add the Vanu and Vath costumes until 3.3, whole patches after the beast tribe quests were released. For the Kojin the costume is released at the same time, and they decided the mount is the ultimate reward.

You'll get your mount in a week.

WRONG! Reputation for the first 4 beast tribes stops accumulating once you reach rank 4. They just get bumped from 4 to 8 once you finish the questline that opens when you get them to 4 and ixal to 7.

As for your actuall point, I would like to remind everyone that Yoshida said they changed things up slightly with the beast tribes this time around, so do not expect it to follow the exact same pattern as previously.

This time around, it seems like the pattern is:
Rank 4: Minion
Rank 6: Furniture and Orchestrion Roll
Rank 7: Glamour set
Rank 8: Mount and emote

I'm asuming rank 9 will give another minion and glamour set when it gets released.

Ananta has 2 mounts, they have the Griffin at rank 8.
