No they dont. I was the only one calling you that and not in regards of server split or else. Solely cause you think a quarter of balmungs population equals a whole other Server. Which is not true in the slightest

It's closer to about 10k currently for the average server for active players and about 20k on Balmung, which is still twice the amount than the average server

EDIT: Pre-Stormblood census shows average server size being roughly between 5k and 7.5k

Anyone who transfered to Balmung since the character creation was locked back in HW, is at the risk of being asked by SE to move to another world, as per the disclaimer that is on the world transfer page, which says: "there may be instances where players who have used the World Transfer Service are requested to move to a different World. Please note that in such cases, applications for World transfers cannot be canceled or refunded."
Now, SE still hasn't done this, but it is within their rights to do that. If Balmung really needs to lose characters, SE can move them on their own. It's not a draconian measure, it's something you agreed upon when transfering to the server.

ok, since I know someone else will call you out on it, even though I'm neutral on the whole thing (I play on Louisoix), I'll bring this up now to allow you to elaborate on it. It says "requested" and not something like "forcibly moved". So the wording may allow people a leg-up to stand on. (and yes, I'm bringing it up for you now because I know SOMEONE will)
White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

Requested is just PR speech for "take it or we'll make you".
The average is around 11.5k without balmung. Still far away from your 5k quarterIt's closer to about 10k currently for the average server for active players and about 20k on Balmung, which is still twice the amount than the average server

I don't think SE would ever split the server - would take too much work and create a lot of unhappy people. But I do think a split would help things if they are still having issues (so many people keep saying that barely any people left so..). That being said, I think a server split would be possible without messing up housing/FC's. Simply keep FC's together, take the entire group and plop them on the new server or keep them where they are. If it's a new server, then housing won't be an issue either. They can automatically have their house moved over to the same ward and plot.
The only issue will be people who get split from their friends and get upset about it. But that's why I also proposed originally to lock housing/names for a month to allow people to fall into the place they wish to be (allow them to revert back to Balmung if they so choose). Although there was a rebuttal from one saying most people would just choose to stay on Balmung. Could very well be, but at least those willing to switch as long as they can keep their house will be able to leave and hopefully a decent number would move and it could be built up as yet another option for roleplayers so hopefully Mateus won't suffer the exact same fate as Balmung.
They could even do an official poll or something (directly from the client) to ask if people would be willing to move to a new server if they implemented this. If there are enough people willing to do it, they could go through with it and put those who opted in onto the new server. But that's just my 2 cents. I'm not on Balmung and never have been.

「Life is such a fragile thing…」

Se have done the best they can by making free server moves a thing and encouraging people to move to low pop servers when it comes to balmung. They can't force people out and unlocking balmung will just increase the problem. The only other thing i think they could do is move out inactive characters who haven't played for like a year into a archive save and they will have to pick a new server if or when they return. and if the server they chose to go to requires a name change they get a free name change. While i understand it must suck not seeing fresh players on balmung (i myself wanted to join balmung on an alt for the roleplay) For now Square have done the best they can without pissing off to many people

I absolutely think they would if it is necessary. Balmung had grown to such a size the hardware was becoming unstable supporting it so SE had no choice but to lock the server until the population shrunk. The only two questions for SE at this point is "has the server shrunk enough to not be a danger to itself?" and "can we mitigate enough of the risk to leave Balmung alone?" If the answer to both is No then SE will split the server because it won't have a choice. Does SE want to? Definitely not, but they'll do it anyway.

More than that...
http://support.na.square-enix.com/ru...1&tag=users_enSQUARE ENIX MAY SUSPEND, TERMINATE, MODIFY, OR DELETE FFXIV SERVICE ACCOUNTS, CHARACTERS, VIRTUAL GOODS, OR THE SERVICE ALTOGETHER, AT ANY TIME FOR ANY REASON OR FOR NO REASON, WITH OR WITHOUT NOTICE OR LIABILITY TO YOU.
Service agreement. It is "within their right" to do whatever they want with your account and characters. They could delete your account tomorrow for no reason whatsoever without telling you about it and that would still be "within their right". And that is something you agreed on.
Will they do it? Most likely not. That customer would probably be lost in an instant, it's just the standard protective clause against lawsuits. But if you're going to bring up what's within SE's rights, might as well go all the way.
