What I have not seen anybody explain is why this is an actual problem.
Why is it a problem that a small number of characters get an extra mount that few others will ever be able to get?

It has been said in this thread already, it was something widely requested by many people, but it was implemented in a way that nearly everyone who requested it won't be able to obtain it.

If they don't want to lower the achievement the next best thing is to add a different version of that mount that is obtainable in a way where people actually can work towards it.

Given that they will keep adding new hunts to the game, I guess over time it will get easier to attain. Still, the way it is now encourages people to abandon duties when an S rank is relayed, which sucks.

Don't see why, if there're enough hunters online, the thing likely won't survive until you get there. But that might be because I'm from Balmung where there's a pretty big hunting community.

Oh they'll nerf it. They nerf everything in this game. The fact that something is hard to get doesn't sit well with most in this community. Hopefully it won't happen soon because those who earned it should have time to enjoy it at least.

I was doing a hunt myself the other day and one of the people there rode up on one. At first, I was really surprised to see it, but then after looking at it, I was kind of disappointed. For that much work it ought to be a little bit more than just one of the unedited tigers from Yanxia. I'm happy for the people who get it but I'm not gonna bust my butt to get one myself, and I'm not gonna be sad about it either. I've got far cooler things to ride around on already. ^_^

While it is hard and time consuming, I think it makes the achievement more valuable and would like things to remain as they are.

Also it would be a slap in the face to those who have worked so hard and have the mount, if we nerfed it down.

I solo ARR A ranks in about 40-50 seconds (I usually relink but in off hours nobody comes to help). In next expansion lv50 S ranks will be soloable in lv 80 gear and most of them will be soloed/ninja killed, and those people usually don't even report ToD so it'll make spawning and tracking harder. I don't think it'll be that much easier, and newer hunts like Okina tend to have increased respawn timer.

This requirement is absurd to the point where it is practically impossible, If you are someone like me (who does not do hunts) and just started to do hunts, it would take you FOREVER just to get a tiger.
