Regarding the Centurio Tiger Mount

I strongly disagree.
It's just a mount, it's supposed to be an achievement. Some people had it the day it came out because they had hunted enough already.
Yes, it will/would take an enormous amount of time but at least it's something that requires enormous dedication.

As much as I want it, I won't have it anytime soon. Last time I checked, I had around 500 S ranks done or so. And yet, I still find it to be fine in its current state.

If you were actively hunting A and S ranks in the 3 years since Hunts were released then yeah you would naturally have it. For those just as dedicated to Hunts as those who have the mount the only difference being they joined the Hunt later on. The achievement is a time sink achievement. Those that have it now weren't working for that mount it was simply a byproduct of what they've been doing for years. It isn't a reasonable thing for someone to start on now and achieve in a practical amount of time, but I don't think that is what this achievement was designed to be.

Since there are several people who have obtained the mount, it is clearly not impossible to get. It will take a long time - years - to get, yes.

Some people claim it would take unreasonable amounts of time to get it, and perhaps it does. But why does it need to be obtainable within a reasonable amount of time? (Assuming that the time needed actually is unreasonable which is not obvious.)

Most people will not be able to get the tiger mount as it is. So?
This is not a reward to work towards - the people who will get it would almost certainly have done all those hunt kills anyway.

In the end it is just another mount. Apart from bragging rights it is in no way better than the chocobo we all get.

They put in the same effort before any mount was added as a dangling carrot. The "just as dedicated" players wouldn't have an issue with catching up. Everyone else? Once they got the mount, how many would really keep hunting? Yeah, that's the difference.

Not sure your complaint here. I came to this thread to give my input on the concept of the achievement. I don't do hunts and have no interest in the mount, so whether it is changed or it stays the same doesn't matter to me.

The point remains that those who have in now and those who have yet to get it but are putting in the same effort spawning and hunting Hunts are only separated by the point in which they started hunting. The achievement is a time sink and as such those that have been hunting the longest are reaping the reward sooner, not that they put in more effort than others just as dedicated. And again. I don't feel that this achievement was designed for someone to go out and achieve in a practical amount of time, but rather to encourage people to continue hunting.

What a stupid mount... it's just a tiger... and you basically tell the world one of 2 things by riding it... 1: you have ZERO life outside of this game..... or 2: you use special apps for finding hunts, pull them early on a consistent basis and you're a bit of a tool in general... so no big loss if I never get this thing...

Or...they've been hunting since hunts were added. More and more people are going to have it eventually, that doesn't mean the people that have it, or will have it, have no lives or use apps. I have 5 hunting linkshells myself, no apps required and I never miss a beat if I feel like going for hunts. If I do get the mount, it will be years from now since I only hit them up casually. Why so salty?

I think it is fine the way it is as long as they add a white version to the Mogstation in the future... Even if it were 500 S rank kills I personally wouldn't bother unless they completely revamped how hunt mobs (especially S ranks) worked (namely how often they spawn and tag rules) - I think they are a colossal waste of time no matter how cool the tiger mount looks. Kudos to those crazy enough to spend that much time to get some rare pixels, though.

It's perfectly fine that this mount is hard to get. The vast majority of rewards in this game are far too easy to get, there's very little that we have to actually work towards or grind for. As someone who isn't even halfway towards getting this mount, I'm absolutely fine with it being hard to get. Besides some 1.x rewards like the manderville earrings or the reward you get for beating Nael back in the day, there aren't any items or mounts that you can look at and be shocked that somebody has it. Even the Savage mounts become ho-hum after a couple of months.

For people that get this mount,they don't go for seals or rewards.
They just...love this content.They hunt because they like it.
So SE give the mount to people that loyal to the content as a reward,Simple as that.
And I'm pretty sure even after they got the mount,they're still keep hunting like they always do.
To them,Centurio tiger is not the end of the road.Not even a goal....its just a goddamn bonus....
