This mount was obtained only by a handful on the day it was released, which means that even if you hunt for 2 years you still have to match your effort to that of the most dedicated handful of people. The mount is unobtainable to a good portion of players.

And people wonder why the cash shop is so widely accepted.

The achievement would be reasonable at 500 S ranks, because they are not farmable and because other people's play styles affect your success in anything shared by the server.

I'm a bit amused people think that like 30 characters having a thing out of about 10 Million subs is such a good argument against nerfing the achiev. As for 'it's ok to take a long time to get' - didn't they just nerf the veteran system because that sort of long term goal is ultimately bad for the game?

Long-term goals that don't require even playing the game, just being subscribed, aren't good for the game. Long-term goals such as this mount, that requires effort, dedication, and a long time of actively playing, are in fact good for the game.

Also, it's "just" 30ish people, yeah. Now imagine if you're one of those 30 people, and it was decided that now, AFTER you already put in the immense effort into obtaining this, it'll be given to tons more people that did much less for it than you. That's the worst. They won't do that, I'm sure of it, it'd be extremely mean-spirited.

Oh they'll nerf it. They nerf everything in this game. The fact that something is hard to get doesn't sit well with most in this community. Hopefully it won't happen soon because those who earned it should have time to enjoy it at least.

No one in this thread is asking for this to be readily available to everyone, nor are we shying away from hard work. 1k S ranks is still a very large amount and it's not like suddenly 90% of the playerbase will have it even if they nerf it.

You are requesting to put less effort into the achievement, which is quite literally you shying away from putting the necessary effort towards it.

There is absolutely no reason you need this thing here and now. You do the hunts and in a year's time you'll get the mount. If you're still playing by then and you put even some time in doing these hunts you'll get yourself a spiffy new mount, and if something happens and you're no longer playing anymore by then, well nothing lost. And if anywhere in between you stopped caring, then clearly you never wanted it as much as you first thought.

This thread is FF14 community at its finest. If they can't get something, they want the requirements to be nerfed.
