Would be interesting in the regardless, since that would require more balancing than just giving them a pet lol. I wouldn't say Ryu (even though it would be cool), since they'd then have to balance elemental type dragons against various things and eventually PvP.
Thanks for posting these links Bayohne; now I can have just one bookmark !
That's quite the cool artwork for Ryu lol. In terms of morphing into a Dragon I would imagine the more humanoid version seen from Breath of Fire IV rather then actually morphing said character into a dragon dragon. If they turned into a dragon dragon I would imagine every race having the same look with different sizes to them, though if you made humanoid Dragon Forms it would at least allow room for each race to have a unique look when turning into a dragon even if it does mean a pint-size lalafell Dragon form lol. Also with the humanoid concept they could hopefully allow it where you could still see the armor on them lol. Heck they do wanna go for realism if one did turn into an actual dragon your gear would break during the process XD.
It's very impressive that Yoshida is this proactive in promoting the game via this sort of traveling when he already has so much in his plate. Kind of puts it in perspective seeing them all in one post like that.
Kudos to you, good sir!
*drools* thank you bayohne! you really are chasing yoshis tail to bring the goodies to us greedy players, and for that, our money will be well spend![]()

Lookin' good, Sasu!
I'm not exaggerating when I say those two have their work cut out for them and do a great job, taking care of their respective forums on their own.
Kodus to your patience with the subsciption questions, Yoshi-P. I'm tired just reading it. Jeeper sneepers.
A couple of things that caught my attention:
My first thought was that maybe you meant to reintroduce the complexity that the crafting was before (the system of more items required) for high quality, but if you did that it would cause problems in inventory again, right? I'm really interested in what you mean by this and I look forward to the details. ^^And one of the things we're planning is two different crafting systems. One that's very simplified and that you're going just for the item you need without having to worry about High Quality, with a small chance of High Quality. Then there's the other system, where it will take more time and effort, but the chance of getting that High Quality item will become higher. So the people who want to spend more time and do it carefully will have the higher chance of a High Quality, and then the people who want to get it done, they have the consolidated system.
Back when FFXIV was first launched, I thought about how, in console FF games, the main story line tends to be a medium difficulty, and the side quests are what range from easy to very hard. I thought that maybe if the dev team approached the online game this way, it would make FFXIV accessible to more people, particularly for those of us who really just play for the story. How interesting that you seem to be doing just that. One interesting point to note is that Mr. Yoshida claimed that players would be able to solo the main scenario with the assistance of companions and story NPCs. He stated that in Final Fantasy XI, getting a party together to defeat the Shadow Lord was a very rewarding experience for a group, so he wants to have similar content in Final Fantasy XIV, too. He wants main quests to be completable and balanced so that players can finish them solo, but side quests will vary. Some side quests might require a party, especially for gathering powerful items.
I'm glad to see your approaches for this game, in which there seems there will be something for everyone to enjoy, and different playstyle choices in which they can enjoy it. It's becoming a very intricate, interesting game. Easy to learn, but hard to master, if you wish to master it. I really like that. I'm looking forward to the future.
P. S. Of course, you can't do this all by yourself. Please give my thanks to your staff.![]()
I just wonder what their intended difficulty for the main scenario will be when soloed.
Usually solo content in an MMO is designed for the lowest common denominator. As in "the braindead population".
What I hope for personally is difficulty level somewhere around XIII's boss encounters and XI's NPC level cap 50 quest.
