Once again, MMO only players are annoying as hell. This is a final fantasy game more than anything else. It is filled with the tropes of the series, the most notable trope being the party is the Chosen ones who save the world. Go play those games you mentioned if you don't like it, or skip all cutscenes.

I've been told I can go play GW2 to be second fiddle to a talking salad, but I don't know if there's truth to that

Maybe we need a friendly rival, a Ken to our Ryu. So we're not the only ones reaping all the praise and rewards. Or maybe if this game were a bit similar to SWTOR, and would actually include and acknowledge other players in the story cutscenes.

And in case there's someone here that didn't finish the Stormblood story.

It's really a shame that Zenos is already dead. It was really a breath of fresh air, to have someone superior to us. Who would kick us to the curb and keep moving on like we were nothing. I was actually feeling some excitement again.

I'm just waiting for my character to "die" or get put into a coma in the MSQ. I want a scene where I get f'd up in the story like everyone else. Could just make it a long cutscene and use time skips to give the illusion of time has past.

I don't mind being "the hero", but I admit that I did eventually get a bit tired of always being the unbeatable warrior. Which is why I really enjoyed it when Zenos just destroyed me on our first encounter.

Zenos was hardly the first guy to beat us. His only accolade is doing it *twice*, really.

Ya the other main problem is that whenever the WoL defeats a primal only he/she gets a lot pf praise from the npcs but what about the other 7 players. Why doesn't the npcs acknowledge that without those other 7 players the WoL is nothing. They are not even shown in cutscenes. Whenever we defeat a powerful villian its just the WoL in the cutscenes... the other players mysteriously vanish. This weird concept really bugs me a lot.

Because canonically they're not there. It's the paradox of this game, story-wise you're on your lonesome but because it's an MMO you can't really go through most of the content by yourself. They started lampshading it by cracking jokes about you bringing so and so adventurers with you, at least in the English localization, but ultimately no one talks about them afterward so it's really just you. If you stop to think about it it also doesn't make sense in cases like Susano or Lakhsmi (or Garuda, or Ifrit... or Titan... or...) where you legit wouldn't have had time to go out and get other adventurers to help you. But it's still an MMO so here we are.
