again , omega is rng based, so ive been doing 1 and 2 weekly for a while and most weeks I dont get anything. Shinyru is out that will help, but everything else is only ilvl 320, and again alot of players dps numbers increased by a fair margin the higher ther ilvl is. So omega you can clear but get nothing, 24 man is one drop per week which just came out, and shinyru those are literally the only above 320 options that exist outside of tomes.

What? No they don't. 268 VS 284; already a 16 main stat difference and not even accounting for the 1 less weapon damage (which can be anywhere between 9 points of main stat to 27 main stat points, going off of HW stats). Not counting for melds and secondaries already on the weapon. You rarely ever gave up WD for anything else (only weapon I can recall readily you did this with was DRK's augmented shire over Alexandrian metal). Especially since WD already caps the rest of the potential damage you can do (and ilevel is theorized to do this as well, just not as notice-able as WD).

They are great filler weapons, yes, but to say they are better would be a stretch.

Personally, I gave up on them doing anything about this.

I have since gone full crafted, skipping tomestones and everything else. I am at 2000/2000 for tomestones, letting them accumulate on the floor. Now I can fully equip and glamour every job in gear that is within the tier right from day one. I don't replace any of it until the next tier is released.

This has made me so much happier, though, a real solution by SE would be preferred. Sadly, the chances of that happening are slim and none, and slim died in the Shirogane stampede.

Reading too much of the forums makes me very sad and apathetic.

Man thats just weird... when I looked at them last, I could have sworn that HQ crafted weapons were 4 points higher in primaries. Must've been tired or something... I concede the point

I was thinking about this exact thing during my 1.5 hour drive into the office this morning. *oof*

This is really the only downside for me personally as I currently benefit from farming tomes with a quick queue on my WHM. It would be great if there was a way to still enter on whatever job you want, but somehow select which group the tomes would be applied to. Although already, this seems like more effort than SE would be willing/able to implement.

it would still be other options pvp gives tomes, omega normal gives tomes like it wouldnt be that hard honestly. The new raid roulette gives tomes and it took me no time to get in as a dps

I really like the per job cap idea! It even may help some of the dps queue times as people could go on a healer or tank and still get gear for their dps jobs.

As someone who reaped the benefit of gearing up all my crafters in HW after they got rid of the silly weekly red scrip cap at the time, I have absolutely no clue why SE continues to place a cap on tomes. I can understand if they don't want players to get fully geared too quickly, but most players want to level multiple jobs.

I can definitely get on board for a cap for each job, but would actually like for them to just remove the cap completely.

I would assume the cap on each job means each job has to get it's own tomes and could only buy it's own gear with its tomes?

The cap is there to keep people from completely grinding out all the gear day one after all.

Not sure i'd want to give up the ability to get tomes to gear an alt job though.

At this time I think they should permanently increase the current top tomestone cap to 900 per week. 450 was fine IMO back in ARR but since the launch of ARR they have added NIN, MCH, AST, DRK, SAM, RDM and we have more people actively playing multiple jobs. Depending on the flavor of the patch division of tomestone gear it is at times mitigated slightly by some jobs sharing gear however there have been instances in the past where there was a specific set for each specific job.
