This is an older story, the best one I can remember of my adventures in the Duty Finder. (I was reading through the older posts, good laughs.) My boyfriend and I did a leveling roulette (awhile back), and we got a PLD that would ONLY ever use Rage of Halone. Not in a combo or anything, no CDs, nothing. Complained about losing hate. So we advised him he should be shield lobbing/flashing for the pulls, and using the entire combo for Rage of Halone, if he wanted it to do what it was supposed to. Threw his shield once, went back to spamming Rage of Halone. Lost hate again. "See? Doesn't do any better". *face palm* We completed it, but it was painful. I think this was Aurum Vale.

I've seen several newbie tanks who, when told to use Flash at the beginning of pull, stand far away from the monsters, use Flash once, and then run towards the enemies... Somehow they don't find Flash useful at all!

Picked up Skalla on the expert roulette, DRK, AST, RED (me) and a SAM who was our first timer. The DRK proceeds to pull one pack at a time. Considered asking for a bigger pull but it was clear they weren't that great at managing more than 3-4 at a time. It ended up being a 40 minute run, but no wipes and I only had to do a quick raise once when the AST got caught out on the bad side of the final boss. Quick Vercure on the tank and a mana shift to the healer and we were back in the game and while it was slow as molasses, it worked. I think I'd rather have more runs like that, slow and pokey, but everyone working well without any drama.

Eyes Rabanastre... really could save the drama I've been getting there for the theater troupe.

This weekend was the first time in a very long time I've rage quit in DF. On Saturday, I was spamming V4 normal for my fresh level 70 SAM. I went in on SCH.

First AST I get stuck with is in Nocturnal. Befpre the tank pulls, I ask politely to please change to Diurnal. No response. Stays in Noc. Halfway through the fight the idiot says "sorry can't change in combat."

Next run, I get stuck with another AST who actually queued in as Diurnal. As we're waiting for the tank to ready, this AST changes to Nocturnal. Again I say, please change to Diurnal. No response. At this point I'm really pissed. I stood there until they wiped and then took my 30 penalty.

Going to be very honest - the main reason I no longer queue for 8man content as SCH is this crap right here.

Not that it didn't happen in HW, because it DID, but it does feel like it happens a lot more now, probably because of AST buffs since SB making more people play it.

The times I've rage quit instances for this trash... just not worth it. I wish they'd at least bother to learn a bit about their job and how it affects the other healer before going in blind.

Yep. I mean both times before the tank pulled I politely asked them to switch. But, the part that made me want to punch someone was the second AST who actually changed from Diurnal to Noct after entering the instance.

Really, though, I don't get why ASTs stay/go in Nocturnal stance when they see a SCH in the group. It's happened way more often for me, personally, since SB launched. When it happened in V2 yesterday I just decided to dps and heal as little as possible (of course I didn't let anyone die or anything). If they want to do that, fine. But you bet I'm going to assume they want to solo heal. Less work for me.

That sounds like a very new WHM I had when I was doing Cutter's on my RDM for leveling roulette. He only used Cure 2 for healing and Stone 2, quickly running out of mp. I tried to help, saying he should use cure mostly to save mp. He did it once, then went back to cure 2 spam. We wiped a few times on the sandworm, even after explaining about the DoT, he wouldnt esuna until it was already fully gone, would barely heal dps or themself really, and just couldnt seem to understand the mechanics of the chimera, despite many explanations still seemed very confused about how they were dying. So about 5 or 6 wipes later we finally get it done.

I tried asking if they were having trouble understanding something about playing, and they replied they just wanted to get to 50. So I guess they made a healer for queues and was going to switch to sam/rdm.
