i think that since SE sees how big a problem this has become that maybe they should adjust for it in the next fights that they have planned. if not its going to be a long year till they have there servers fix.

aww you stopped reading right before i explained. Long and short of it is, on my screen my dodge rate of eruptions is some where around 9/10. sometimes i get a bit greedy with weaponskills and buffs as well. the issue is the way things get updated my actual dodge rate is about 1/10.
would you believe im an American as well? I hale from the Atlantic south east down around south caroilina to be more exact.I live in North America, so I suffer the same latency issues as everyone else here.
Yep not saying otherwise. I have them, or at least something approximating them. but all of that means jack and squat when it all gets lost in transit. The fight requires patience, proper ability timing, and quick reflexes.
Right and had you continued reading on you would realize that im not asking for push over content. just steering away from things that require in some cases pin point accuracy when they know that this is not possible for a vast majority of the user base, not due to the ineptitude of the player but because the system is partially blorked. The latency issue won't be resolved until 2.0 afaik. I'd rather not have watered down content till that time

Ifrit is predictable. very predictable, in fact. If you keep dying, you are doing too much work trying to outperform/outparse your teammates, and still don't have a full grasp on the timing of Ifrit actions and the necessary responses for survival. The patch from a few days ago did much to improve the lag issues, even in the states, which helped me greatly. As did analyzing fraps'ed videos of the fight.
it Saddens me to see how others get painted with such a large brush on here. if u die on ifrit you dont know what your doing.
I'm really happy that it helped you. But remember your experience does not equal that of others.
Timing and reflexes are very important in that fight, I am not saying other wise. What i'm saying is that the server issues are making that almost a moot point for many, my self included. I am simply positing until the client and server states are a bit more in sync that the main form of difficulty in a fight like this being dancing in a mine field might not be the best thing going forward.
Look at the screen shot in my opening post and then come back and tell me that i should have been hit in any way shape or form by that eruption with a straight face.

Nobody is saying that lag doesn't exist. We're saying it's not enough to keep consitently killing your party without the fault lying in your party. There will be flukes where you wipe, but overall, these should be minimal compared to your wins.I'm really happy that it helped you. But remember your experience does not equal that of others.

My LS is not hardcore, it took us a while until we all finally arrived in sync to each other and Ifrit. But now we're at the point where we rotate in new players so they can see how it is.
Again, most of them are from Spain, and they have much larger lag issues than I do here in Colorado. Keep trying, you'll get him. ^^
Ifrit is just one fight. they have said they wont fix the servers till 2.0. so maybe it would be best if they made adjustments to fights to taken into account of the lag till such time that the servers are up and running? which should be little over a year away
My opinion if it matters. Yes it completely sucks (the lag) but is still avoidable. You say you run right when you see the cracks which is what I do and I'm fine. Maybe it depends on your location in regards to the server I don't know, but its still avoidable even with the lag. It would be 100X easier if what was on the screen what was really happening, but looks like it won't be fixed til 2.0. Not sure if its just your connection but keep trying![]()
I've defeated Ifrit enough times, but I also constantly suffer from server latency issues in all aspects of the game. It's just that this battle is so excessively dependent on relocating your character constantly that its been made extremely apparent and crippling to game play.
I hate seeing dead bodies slide around and twirl across the battle field when the server decides to catch up with where the player is actually supposed to be displayed. Its like corpse ballet.
I really beg the dev's to not plan or implement any content yet that requires quick positioning while it is a very well known issue that the current build cannot support it for the majority of players. I'm very concerned about the future self combo system as well. I don't wish to become completely ineffective at playing the game due to no fault of my own.
