That's a pretty shameful response time, on SE's part, and certainly not worth discounting, but it does sound like they have actually designed the fight around the latency issues.

If it doesn't show, I haven't actually done the Ifrit fight enough times yet to know it that well (really my LS realizes collectively we're not up to snuff yet but we go in anyways just to test the waters), but so far the responses have been enlightning.
